This is my first attempt at a pioneer deck. Over my time playing Magic, I've come to the realisation that the grindy, value-centric midrange decks are the ones I enjoy playing the most, and since Field of the Dead got banned in Pioneer I felt that the meta might open up enough to make that kind of deck viable again.

I was kind of torn between Abzan (because Siege Rhino), Jund (So I could play Kolaghan's Command with something of a pet card of mine, Goblin Dark-Dwellers), and Sultai, which I finally settled on primarily because of the fact I have a set of Oko that needed a deck since they got banned in Standard, but also to get the benefit of access to counterspells and the best disruption and removal to deal with the control decks that seem to be doing quite well at the moment.

This deck, and its sideboard, are very much unfinished - My store has its first Pioneer event at the weekend and I wanted to use it as a testing ground for the deck - but this is a preliminary build I've settled on for the time being, and any suggestions for tweaks and improvements would be much appreciated.

To preempt mention of Kalitas: I do want him in the deck, but I don't have the means to obtain one right now.
