"I don't think he knows about Second Breakfast, Pip."
If you know Eggs, you know this deck. If you don't, let me illuminate all of the sexy that is Eggs.
This is a high-synergy deck that revolves around Faith's Reward and
Open the Vaults
to combo-kill your opponent by chaining infinite Pyrite Spellbomb activations. How do? You use your eggs (there are 16 - props if you figure them out) to draw all of the card and float tons of mana to cast all the magics. And what's really tasty (the best thing ever) is when you cast Reshape to find Lotus Bloom - that's literally better than casting
Tinker
to find
Black Lotus
. That's not even legal in Legacy, or consistent in Vintage. And yet, wE CAN DO IT IN MODERN! Madness! Blasphemy! But it's cool so don't complain.
Another cool thing: who needs fetchlands? Ghost Quarter returns after every Faith's Reward (sadly,
Open the Vaults
only hits artifacts and enchantments), so we can sac it, blow up our own land, fetch one, they come back, lather, rinse, repeat, and we have like nine lands on turn 4 without any ramp spells. Pretty sweet, right? Right. Plus, Edge of Autumn is basically free cycling (with the above engine), and never will be used to fetch lands. Ever.
Unfortunately for your opponent, the turn you go off can last a half hour, or until you time out and have to call it a draw, unless you know exactly what you're doing. It'll probably be at least ten minutes, even if you do. So, basically, you don't play this deck to make friends. Or to keep them. You play it to win. And win you will. The greatest win-con (apart from the spellbomb) is simply a test of endurance - at what point do you simply extend the hand and say, "Good game"?
