is a great way to pull ahead in card advantage and allows you to be liberal with your
Traverse the Ulvenwald
because you can buy it back from the graveyard with her downtick. She also has synergy with
Courser of Kruphix
,
Grim Flayer
, and
Mishra's Bauble
, all of which are good at turning on Delirium and keeping our hand full of gas.
The idea with the
Murderous Rider
,
Fae of Wishes
,
Kitesail Freebooter
, and
Scavenging Ooze
is to have a small toolbox of creatures you can get with
Traverse the Ulvenwald
without going overboard on the toolbox thing. They're all good cards independently of their use as tutorable effects. We also have a few lands to tutor in specific matchups in
Bojuka Bog
,
Creeping Tar Pit
,
Blast Zone
, and
Ghost Quarter
. I'm not sure if the Freebooter should be
Vendilion Clique
or
Brain Maggot
. Vendilion Clique is the best card out of the three and has the best body stapled to it, but it's very hard for us to cast reliably on turn 3, plus they get to redraw. Brain Maggot can take creatures out of hand and is an enchantment creature for Delirium/Tarmogoyf, but it's a 1/1. Freebooter seemed like the best middle ground card for what we're trying to do.
The
Fae of Wishes
SB package is a bit of an experiment. If you really really need a certain effect you can tutor for Fae with Traverse, then use Fae to get a card out of the sideboard. Gives you access to things like maindeck-ish
Crucible of Worlds

Collective Brutality
,
Engineered Explosives
,
Jace, the Mind Sculptor
,
Creeping Corrosion
and a few other bangers that can single-handedly win you a match. It kind of gives you outs to those decks that are supposed to win game 1 by default. It is a bit slow though, so you have to survive until then. I'm not sure if it's correct to just board in the cards you would have tutored for in post-board games and board out Fae, or if you're supposed to keep them in the sideboard so that you can tutor for them after tutoring for Fae with Traverse. Like I said, it's an experiment.

Matchup testing so far:
Jund:
2-1, 2-0, 2-1
We just out grind Jund. The game I lost was due to me stumbling on lands and them having a very fast hand. Fae of Wishes was absurd in this matchup. A lot of stuff in the sideboard happens to be good vs Jund and it can block well vs their creatures and pressure their planeswalkers in the air. Tamiyo's passive ability is pretty relevant too.
Burn:
2-1, 1-2
This matchup feels 50/50. Game 1 they blazed us off the board in three turns with a triple creature start. Game 2 I won by a long shot as they stumbled a bit on lands and I had a Courser. Game 3 was very close, I won but he would have if I hadn't killed him that turn.
Titanshift:
2-1, 2-0
I played two sets against Titanshift. Granted I was goldfishing and I did mess up the Titanshift in match 1 game 1 because I'm not a titanshift player, so that first set could have gone the other way. I assumed this would be one of my worst matchups, but it actually felt decent. Game 1 is pretty bad. You just try to make them stutter long enough to get Ghost Quarter/Crucible online and pray it's enough. Post board you board out Inquisition and Bojuka Bog and board in Thoughtseize, Ghost Quarter, Collective Brutality, and both Disdainful Strokes. You leave Crucible in the SB and use Fae of Wishes to go get it if you need it. You often hold Traverse to go find a Ghost Quarter. Once you find a sideboard card like Ghost Quarter or Disdainful Stroke, use Tamiyo/Crucible to reuse it over and over again. Try to get a threat onboard on turn 2 and then disrupt disrupt disrupt. If you have an iffy opening hand and it doesn't have either Ghost Quarter or Disdainful Stroke, it's probably a mull.
Tron:
1-2, 2-1, 1-2
Matchup feels bad as can be imagined, but when you can get your engine online and start strip mining them, it's winnable. Tamiyo can serve as a makeshift Crucible until you find the real thing. Gets better after sideboard because Disdainful Stroke is hella good and Collector Ouphe can be a hoss. You can keep them under a lock with Tamiyo + Disdainful Stroke for several turns. You're really looking for hands that have a turn 2 threat + disruption.
JDS:
2-1, 1-2, 0-2
This matchup is rough if they draw more than one discard spell. Not really sure how to make this more winnable, help would be appreciated.
Thopter Prison:
2-0
Dude was super salty after he misplayed and didn't understand my cards. I don't feel like that was a legitimate test, but I did get to Fae for Creeping Corrosion. He used Wishclaw Talisman (or whatever it's called) to tutor up a thoughtseize to take it, then I was able to use Tamiyo to get it back, so that was pretty sweet. Grim Flayer was a boss in that matchup because he was never able to generate enough tokens to block him due to my interaction. I have thought about putting Oko in the sideboard for this matchup but honestly if that game was any indication I don't think I need it.
