CHALLENGING GAMEPLAY

Transforming is typically done on turn 3 if you hold an instant or a Wolfir Avenger.

Wolfbitten Captive   (Basics) : Team Pavlov almost always skip the first main phase. Attacking with untapped mana will force your opponent to think twice before blocking, because you could then use that mana to buff the Wolfbitten Captive   and kill a blocker without using a card. As a result, you gain card advantage or deal free damage.

Wolfbitten Captive   (Advanced) : Can turn into a 4/4 Krallenhorde Killer   if you trigger the +2/+2 in response to the flipping trigger. It can also turn into a 5/5 Wolfbitten Captive   when flipping back. Turning into 4/4 is extremly useful against aggro decks.

Moonscarred Werewolf   (Basics) : Vigilance allows him to be declared as an attacker and still be used for mana while he attacks. That way, he deals combat damage and can still be used to buff a Krallenhorde Killer   or even Kessig Wolf Run.

Scorned Villager   (Advanced) : If you only 2 untapped mana, Moonmist in your hand and Wolfbitten Captive   on the battlefield during your opponent's turn and he attacks you. First : declare blockers. Second : Cast Moonmist with your 2 untapped mana. Third : Flip into Moonscarred Werewolf   first. Four : Tap Moonscarred Werewolf   for GG. Five : Give +2/+2 to Wolfbitten Captive   . Six : Flip into a 4/4 Krallenhorde Killer   . Last : your werewolves deal 4 and 2 damage to the attackers while your opponent's damage is negated by the Moonmist

Huntmaster of the Fells   (Basics) : When you flip him, remember the 2 damage nuke can be redirected to a Planeswalker. Ravager of the Fells   also has trample, which makes this creature + Moonmist a real problem for your opponent's Planeswalkers.

Huntmaster of the Fells   (Advanced) : Dont forget casting 2 spells when he is in Ravager of the Fells   flips him back into the Huntmaster. Since this deck has so many instants, this should be easy to pull off during your opponent's turn.

Team Pavlov (Budget) : You can own only 1 Garruk Relentless   and use 3-4 card list in your deck. You can probably also own only 2x Ravager of the Fells   and use 4x card list in your deck. That way, the deck's price drops down by 100$ easily.

METAGAMING

The cards I use are not there only because "I like them". Based on what people around me play and what I saw being played online, I carefully chose each and every single cards in this list so I could counter the main winning conditions I see often.

Golgari Charm is used to counter board wipes like Supreme Verdict and Bonfire of the Damned. I have to admit the mass regenerate also destroys weenie deck when I do decided to block them. Golgari Charm -1/-1 is also a direct counter to Falkenrath Aristocrat and Stuffy Doll. It also counters hard black/white token decks by either destroying Intangible Virtue or by wiping all those spirit/human tokens, taking even Blood Artist with it.

Putrefy shuts down main targets like Angel of Serenity , Griselband, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, Rhox Faithmender, Thundermaw Hellkite, Drogskol Reaver, etc. It being able to destroy artefacts also shuts down annoying Staff of Nin or worst : Conjurer's Closet.

Abrupt Decay was added for early game versatility since you usually want to save Golgari Charm and Putrefy for late game. It being able to kill a Silverblade Paladin or Frontline Medic is a notable bonus.

Moonmist is the most troll card in this deck. Flipping your werewolves can make them stronger and protect them from small nukes like Pillar of Flames. It also gives you an extra turn to live against aggro deck ; turn during which your opponent's creatures are often all tapped and you can swing back for the win.

Wolfir Avenger is one of the best cards. The flash allows you to flip your werewolves easily without wasting mana. The regenerate stalls the game for a while and since he has 3 power, he is a direct counter to the very popular Thragtusk. Even control decks counting on Supreme Verdict to stall the game will flip tables because of Wolfir Avenger. Make sure you always save 2 mana once he's out ; you should almost always have 2 untapped lands during your opponent's turn anyway because of your instants.

Swamp+Mountain : Some people where I play use Ghost Quarter to mana screw (color) their opponent. Often, their opponent doesn't play any basic lands which results in a 1 for 1 land trade. Not me, that Swamp is very important.

SIDEBOARD

Slaughter Games is used almost every 2nd and 3rd games. That card is simply too strong, since most people I play with have only 1-2 win conditions.

Dreadbore is mainly used against reanimators, solar flare and super friends. 4x Putrefy is sometimes not enough to deal with the big creatures and a Liliana of the Veil supported by many nukes can be quite an anoyance.

Tormod's Crypt is used to further shutdown reanimators. There are a lot of them where I play at.Gruul Charm is used against Delver of Secret, Dungeon Geist, Lingering Souls + Intangible Virtue + Favorable Winds, Vampire Nighthawk, Bloodline Keeper  , Olivia Voldaren, etc. Tribute to Hunger will most likely change. For now, it's there to counter enchantment / hexproof decks with Invisible Stalker, Geist of Saint Traft, Sigarda, Host of Herons and Lazav, Dimir Mastermind

ONE GEEKY JOKE

Moonscarred Werewolf   taps for "GG" ... just saying ...

PHYREXIA & MIRODIN : HALL OF SHAME

Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Ratchet Bomb, Sword of War and Peace, Sword of Feast and Famine, Phyrexian Obliterator, Primeval Titan and Phantasmal Image ; good riddance.

Hope you enjoy the deck as much as I do, good luck !!
