This deck was created to give me a chance at more competitive tables. I recently began attending a new LGS, and the commander games tend to end pretty quickly. Unfortunately, my other decks weren't really able to compete with the likes of Doomsday Zur or Arcum Paradox Combo. This deck will hopefully allow me to stretch the game out long enough to drop my combo.

The reason I chose Surrak Dragonclaw as my general is to prevent my various combo pieces from being countered. The main piece is Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , while combo-enablers like Deceiver Exarch , Bounding Krasis , Pestermite and Breaching Hippocamp provide the insta-win capabilities. Splinter Twin provides a bit of redundancy, though my tutors are focused more on finding creatures. Birthing Pod , Chord of Calling , Worldly Tutor and Yisan, the Wanderer Bard help me find my combo pieces quickly. The remainder is mostly card draw, ramp, counters and removal.

I've played a few games with it, and it has fared well against some of my playgroup's better decks (though not cEDH caliber). It is a blast to pilot and can really be a potent threat to win games out of nowhere. I look forward to the first night I bust it out at my LGS.
