The thought behind this deck build is that trying to stack the deck with pure mill cards results in the opponent being able to wipe the floor with you if you have neither creature removal or strong creatures. The consuming aberration coupled with Phenax is enough to supplement the entire deck for its mill potential--time scour, breaking//entering, and jace memory adept are not necessary.
