Tokens are creatures too, wouldn't you agree? Well Cadira certainly does since the more tokens you make, the tokens she makes in return. All you really need is a single token and open opponent to get the ball rolling. That's a bit reductive however, so let's take a look underneath the hood to see where all the magic happens.

The opening strategy Show

When starting off the game, you want to start off low to the ground and unassuming. You're playing with rabbits, how deadly can they be? The goal at first is to either ramp up or get a single token out.

Most of your early game generators. Ranger Class, Gilded Goose, Prosperous Innkeeper and Khalni Garden are all good options for a token before your commander comes out. But mostly you'll play your Commander before that, just so she can attack and make a token the following turn. Battle for Bretagard and Nissa, Voice of Zendikar are both great token generators that aren't a one time deal.

If you're desperate enough, you can even Beast Within or Generous Gift your own mana dorks just to get a token. It works but it isn't pretty. TL;DR Make a token to make more tokens

Getting a hit in Show

To make tokens though, you actually have to hit the enemy, so how do you go about this? It's surprisingly easy to get an early attack through, Trample means you'll get some damage in from weak blockers, and early on most opponents won't want to sacrifice their early pawns and just let you have the Rabbit token. Once this happens, your opponents have sealed their fates.

After that though, it'll take some more work to deal combat damage. This can be alleviated with certain artifacts or enchantments. Commander's Plate gives Cadira a nice boost, and three color protections from more common colors. Whispersilk Cloak straight up makes her unblockable, but the Shroud is annoying at times. Spirit Mantle gives a boost and creature protection and goes a long way. Shield of the Oversoul give her a boost and two amazing keywords for offence and defense. Champion of Lambholt can get out of control and let not just your commander, but all of your tokens to get in uninterrupted.

If you feel like turning your brain off, you can unga bunga your way through with straight stat increases, such as Horn of Valhalla, Starlight Spectacular or Beastmaster Ascension, which often times gets all the counters needed during its first turn out. It's not flashy by any means, but sometimes you just have to use brute force to fit the square block in the circle hole.

Maintaining the advantage Show

You're swimming in fluff now, but all of this is useless if you can't keep up the pressure. The deck has a multitude of ways to keep your board protected, and your hand full.

Welcoming Vampire, Bennie Bracks, Zoologist, Master of Ceremonies and Toski, Bearer of Secrets are all great ways to draw cards from your creatures, and in Master's case it can generate different kinds of advantage while providing a bit of fun to the table. Rite of Harmony and Idol of Oblivion are good non creature ways to draw cards from just from playing the deck as intended.

Cryptolith Rite is a great way to turn your tokens into mana dorks. Opponent plays a board wipe? Float all of that mana, and when they go to change phases, hit them with White Sun's Zenith, Secure the Wastes, March of the Multitudes or Grand Crescendo. That one can even protect your other creatures from that destruction depending on which spell it is.

Cards like Pest Infestation and Aura Shards will keep your opponent's fields clear of Artifacts and Enchantments, and in the former's case, leave you with some more tokens to fill out your ranks.

There's so many ways to keep up the pressure and snowball out of control. Even if you lose everything, it's extremely easy to build it all up again in a matter of turns. Now suddenly letting you have that one Rabbit token doesn't seem like a good idea now does it?

Sealing the deal Show

It's your game now, you've got a board full of Creatures, a hand full of Cards and no end to the ways to end the game. But don't spend too long having fun with this, it's still a game, and every game has to have its winner, and hopefully it's you.

Some of my personal favorite methods are Beastmaster Ascension with an entire board full of dozens of tokens, or Starlight Spectacular for even more power, although some people will call this a fake card, it doesn't matter because it swings things heavily in your favor. Or, if you're feeling especially nostalgic, look your opponents in the eyes, tap eight mana, and drop a Craterhoof Behemoth on their asses and watch them scoop.

There is a non combat way to win however, if by some miracle your opponents defense is too much, Halo Fountain provides not only excellent advantage, but a way to instantly win if you have enough creatures. Trust me, you'll have enough to pull it off.

Cadira, Caller of the Small might just be m favorite Commander deck of all time, and it's not just my love of rabbits saying this. She's aggressive and fun, and once you get rolling, it's hard to stop this train. She can be built on a budget or with all the bells and whistles, and she's viable either way as long as you stick to what she's good at. You don't need to break the bank to have a good time with this Orc Ranger.

So, if you feel like having a good time and have an unhealthy obsession with rabbits, I'd recommend giving her a shot. My build isn't the only one, other people have other lists and maybe mine will be your starting point.
