Maybeboard

Welcome to the Circus of Value!

This is a deck that I made for a challenge to build a deck around Altar's Reap. I decided to stick with the spirit of sacrificing creatures for value, and Karador seemed like the perfect general for the job, since he could resurrect the creatures after they had been sacrificed. Karador's colors also gives me access to lots of persist tricks, which I'm really liking about this deck. Not to mention, it gives me access to the awesome Murmuring Bosk, which is neat for being the first wedge land.

It is slow to get going, but once it does, the value it reaps is amazing. You know you're doing pretty awesomely when you cast Cauldron Haze on a Solemn Simulacrum, sacrifice him to Altar's Reap, and then cast and equip Skullclamp to your now 1/1 Solemn Simulacrum. Or when you have Grave Pact out, hardcast Shriekmaw, use Cauldron of Souls to give him persist, sacrifice him twice to Phyrexian Altar for BB, and then use your Karador play to Evoke Shriekmaw from your graveyard. These are among the awesome plays this deck is capable of.

The maybeboard now consists of all cards I'm considering and those that have been in this deck in the past. I'm still playing around with the build, so suggestions are welcome.

Win cons:

Blood Artist + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Wickerbough Elder + sac outlet

Blood Artist + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Woodfall Primus + sac outlet

Any of the above infinite sacrifice engines + Pitiless Plunderer

Eternal Witness + Phyrexian Altar + Living Death + Blood Artist + enough creatures to repeatedly cast Living Death

Life from the Loam + Polluted Mire

Life from the Loam + Secluded Steppe

Life from the Loam + Tranquil Thicket

Life from the Loam + Scattered Groves (Finish this cycle, you cowards!)

Indatha Triome + Life from the Loam

Recently picked up a retro Prismatic Vista. Replaced Sandsteppe Citadel for it, though I’m not 100% sure that’s the correct pick right now. I’ve had a few games recently where I’ve gotten color screwed, and I’m concerned my higher than normal basic count may be responsible. It may be time to get some nice foil proxies and put in some proper duals. Might also add more ramp creatures like Farhaven Elf, or potentially some rocks. I could add mana dorks, but I don’t like the idea of my fixing being vulnerable to board wipes. At any rate, I’d like the ability to play around nonbasic hate, but six of each basic is likely too much these days.
