With the new synergies and interactions released from the Amonkhet & Hour of Devastation involving -1/-1 counters, the potential for a slick and dare I say "devastating" deck can be made from all the possible cards that looked otherwise useless to sudden removal with other combos on the side. I chose Sek'Kuar for the fact that he has "Whenever a non-token creature dies, create a 3/1 Graveborn with Haste"; which in turn makes Sek'Kuar into a combo engine with artifacts like Ashnod's Altar that synergize persist creatures and Nim Deathmantle with creatures.

From the Lorwyn and Mirrodin sets there exist cards that are not only obscure and rarely used, but also popular ones in many formats and decks that use them for the sole purpose of value, such as the common card from Shadowmoor named Morselhoarder; a card that is a bit pricey in CmC but when combined with cards that allow for -1/-1 counter effects it turns into a mana engine that gives you a mana of ANY COLOR for as long as you have a reliable source of those counters... it even comes with two counters on it that you can use to play a one-drop or a two-drop card. However, the real power behind this card is when it is in grave with Devoted Druid and the new Channeler Initiate . If Necrotic Ooze is on field and is hasted or past summoning sickness then It turns Morselhoarder and the other mentioned cards into an infinite combo while in graveyard!

Another route to win the game not involving an infinite combo is through the well-known card Hermit Druid. With no basics in the deck, this turns into a semi-powerful card into a single tap deck mill for yourself, enabling your entire graveyard with multiple possibilities and outcomes for a win. If Necrotic Ooze is on field already and this this event happens, Ooze can recur the deck over and over by using the cards Magus of the Will + Panharmonicon + Regrowth + Riftsweeper + Elixir of Immortality and using the Elixir of Immortality on your opponents' upkeep.

Other notable synergies involve the combination of Blowfly Infestation + Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons + Nest of Scarabs . If you pull off this combo it is a repetitive and near-infinite combo of creatures not only dying, but also applying -1/-1 counters onto creatures you control. Toss in the new Hour of Devastation card The Scorpion God, then you almost draw your entire deck depending on how many cards you want. What makes this even more deadly is when you throw in a doubler for tokens such as Parallel Lives; with this, you can kill the entire battlefield from the creation of not only snakes but also the scarabs from Nest of Scarabs due to the -1/-1's being put into the increasing amount of fodder.

Other interesting interactions involve the cards Kulrath Knight + any other -1/-1 counter generator. Wish your opponent stopped hitting your face or blocking your creatures? Slap on this guy and say "NO" to ANY creatures that have ANY counters on them, that also includes +1/+1's!

Finally we have the makers and distributors of the "plague" this deck has, Soul Snuffers, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Carnifex Demon, and Contagion Engine. Although there are many I can name off it is best for you to look for yourself to understand and determine what is useful or not.

Proliferate and other effects that doubles or redistributes counters onto creatures are your BFF's. Use them well and they will take you far in your game and will change difficult situations against you to benefit you instead.

For the artifacts in this deck, we are running the staple of Sol Ring, the 3 Signets able to run the deck, and Chromatic Lantern for the sake of mana generation and speed. Other artifacts such as Ashnod's Altar, Panharmonicon, and Skullclamp add towards token or creature value for situations that require them, such as setting up a combo or drawing cards from tokens that spawn from effects of other cards.

For the tutors, this deck runs a plethora of them, ranging from Green Sun's Zenith, Worldly Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Buried Alive and Chord of Calling.

Lastly is the land base. The classic Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth exists in here to add more mana to (x) spells and support to cast spells at a rapid rate; Miren, the Moaning Well and High Market for lifegain and instant-speed sacrifices for when you need them; and finally non-basic lands that include shock lands for Jund colors, such as Blood Crypt, Overgrown Tomb, and Stomping Ground. There also is the staple Command Tower and also some quality lands like Buried Ruin for artifact recursion and Reliquary Tower for unlimited hand size.

Thanks for looking at my decklist! Make sure to upvote the deck so that it can inspire other players who like EDH to make their own version of this deck or any other they can think of.

I am also open to suggestions to other cards and criticism towards the deck and want to hear from you, the viewers of how this deck could be better.
