Merieke's Dance

This deck has two main parts that help to establish control over the board state. You know, classic esper control freak stuff. First off is to utilize tap/untap engines to twiddle with Merieke and other Inspired or Tap creatures for fun shenanigans. The other theme of the deck plays with various flicker effects to lock down those lured in by Merieke. My main goal here is to have a deck that interacts well in multiplayer that stays reasonably under budget. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!

Tap Dancing, In order to get the most of Merieke and the other inspiring options I sourced out the help of a number of untap engines. Some highlights are Thousand-Year Elixir , sure I'll use Merieke's ability the turn I cast her! Aura of Dominion has great interactions with inspired creatures if it is not safe to attack with them, I can also use the stolen creatures as untap fodder. Fatestitcher , Merieke's favourite zombie wizard comes with a bargain untap cost. Other favourites include, Hidden Strings , Magewright's Stone and Reality Spasm .

Protect the Queen, Merieke is a great asset to have on the team but she comes on a very fragile 1/1 base. Getting her cheap and easy protection are a must. Aside from flickering her out of harms way, some key cards that offer safety from the storm are Mother of Runes , Swiftfoot Boots , Pemmin's Aura , Elgaud Shieldmate ,

Flickering, Aside from the previously mentioned protection, special flickering saves Merieke's victims from her untap effect. Not to mention getting repeat utility of ETB triggers. Main trigger that ensure a more permanent service include Deadeye Navigator , Conjurer's Closet and Nephalia Smuggler . also has a lot of utility in that you can save the whipped creature from exile step.

Transmutations and Acceleration, Perplex , Muddle the Mixture , Clutch of the Undercity , are good instant speed utility that get extra value out transmute while Disciple of Deceit gives all cards in your hand the potential to do the same. For mana fixing, Armillary Sphere and Pilgrim's Eye does the same and is an all star when combined with flicker effects.
