The Goal

Elves... everywhere... lots of them... overrun your opponents... pointy ears! Only commander style.

The Backstory

The first duel deck I ever got was Elves vs Goblins and loved it. Not so much the goblins, but I had such a blast with the elves deck. I eventually upgraded it and as a result didn't get to play it too much because when I did, my friends hated me. When I was selling all my cards this was the only deck I wanted to keep, but the guy told me he wouldn't buy my cards without that deck included. So this my attempt at creating something that works similar, while adding a splash of black to help with removal. I don't know if I'll ever be able to capture that same magic, but here's to hoping.

The Deck

Basically I wanted to put together a similar deck as deck:dominus-the-deck-of-many-elves, but for a commander style, with all of the extra cards the deck does have quite a few new tricks, so take a look through it. This is a pretty straight forward deck. Play as many elves as you can. Boost them with cards like Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen, Elvish Archdruid, Imperious Perfect, Elvish Champion, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Gempalm Strider, Coat of Arms, and Door of Destinies. Create more elf tokens with Imperious Perfect, Presence of Gond, Elvish Promenade, Lys Alana Huntmaster, and your commander Nath of the Gilt-Leaf which will in turn boost the abilities on cards like Shaman of the Pack, Elvish Archdruid, and Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen. There are a few cards that will give you +x/+x based on how many elves you have as well. Things can get out of hand quicky for your opponent if they can't wipe your board. Plenty of ramp built into the deck to get you going fast.

Fog is your get out of jail free card in the event of a wipe, but you have a few board wipes at your disposal as well. I really like Death Cloud and Eliminate the Competition since there is a good chance you can wipe all your opponents' boards and still have a good board state of your own.

The Notes

6/28/18 Update: I felt I really wanted to get more cards in the deck that forced opponents to discard so I made some changes.

Obviously Craterhoof Behemoth would do well in this deck, but for the price of the card it's going to have to wait.

This is my Elf Deck. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
