Is this the future of standard? Will standard be dominated by a single deck type for the next few months? My guess would be... Yes... And I believe this is that deck that will go unchallenged for a good while.

The King Has Arrived...

Without a doubt Brimaz, King of Oreskos is the best card of the Born of the Gods set. This card is groundbreaking in more ways than one.

First- It will change the entire spectrum of aggro decks for the next few years.

Second- It is going to make cards that give global buffs such as Spear of Heliod and Purphoros, God of the Forge, both of which are in this deck, much more effective as they will also buff the cat tokens produced by Brimaz.

Third- This may be the most important reason... This one creature can offer enough board pressence to either hold your opponent at bay, or kick a kitten hoard down their throat...

Such Loyalty... Much wow!

Brimaz, King of Oreskos + Legion Loyalist Legion Loyalist is going to offer a much needed boost to your aggression. This card is a 1 drop that you can immediately swing with and coupled with Brimaz, the battallion will trigger, more than likely giving you the upper hand in that particular combat.

Don't stare directly at the sun... Or the spear... The sun spear... Oh you know what I mean!!!

Spear of Heliod is a huge factor in this deck... It may not decide of you win or lose, but it helps A LOT when you have it in play. This buffs all of your creatures by 1, thereby making Brimaz a 4/5 , and the cat tokens he produces 2/2s. That extra 2 damage may not seem like a lot but when your G/W aggro opponent plays an Armada Wurm , you feel a lot safer knowing you have a last resort answer.

For hitting another student you get two weeks of... Detention!!!Detention Sphere is the source of control in this deck and is quite hilarious I must say... Any token deck just collapses in seconds. It also takes care of planes walkers and any other non-land permanent for that matter.

So has anyone else noticed that drawing cards is kindof a good thing??? I had no clue... -snickers maniacally-

Sphinx's Revelation... If you don't know what this is and how amazing it is... What depths of hell have you been condemned to for the last couple of years?? Another avenue for card draw that is not quite as amazing, but still very effective is Ephara, God of the Polis . With creatures entering the battlefield under your control on most turns, whether it be an extremely loyal goblin or a kitten, you will trigger ephara's upkeep effect 70% of the time. This will give great card advantage.

How could I maximise my damage each turn... What if I attacked twice??

Aurelia, the Warleader makes this possible... Attacking twice a turn is really going to put pressure on your opponent, and if they can't handle the pressure they may force themselves into bad plays.

That's a lot of creatures dealing combat damage right? I sure wish there was a way to capitalize on that... Oh wait..

Five-Alarm Fire will make sure you get the most out of every combat... Every time a creature you control deals combat damage... FAF gets a blaze counter. Remove 5 of these blaze counters and deal 5 damage to target creature or player. Yep... By playing aggro you can then use this to control your opponents board presence with spot removal. I don't know where I come up with these things...

So I think you get the point with this deck. If they Slaughtergames or Reap Intellect brimaz the game is over...

Not quite... They still have to deal with Stormbreath Dragon and Boros Reckoner ...

"WHAAAAAT? You mean after all of that... There are still more win-cons???!"

Yeah... Why not? It just further strengthens the deck.

As for the sideboard...

Pithing Needle is such a good card... If you aren't side-boarding it in standard... Waht are you doing with your life?

The charms are amazing... They would be main-boarded but their main use in this deck would be combat tricks. A good sideboard is nice when you lose that really close game 1 and you side in some charms... Then your opponent takes a couple quick losses...

Fated Retribution is good when you can turn 7 lay a land and pass... They assume you are going to cast sphinx's rev this turn so attempt to make up for the draw four cards, gain four life by establishing board presence... Then you cast fated retribution and laugh... A lot...

Glare of Heresy is mainly for D-spheres and Elspeth, Sun's Champion

Aetherlings is side-boarded for a win-con against popular control decks.
