Rhys the Redeemed

Rhys is a gem in terms of tribal and token strategies in commander. Being able to produce Elf tokens as well as doubling the size of the army once enough of them are out in the field is certainly impressive. I decided to remain mono green, with the added bonus of being able to play cards with hybrid mana costs ().

Growing Ranks

Inside the deck we will find many cards which produce creature tokens on their own, including Rhys himself. The most important pieces to this strategy however are Doubling Season , Primal Vigor , Parallel Lives , and Growing Ranks . This last one is specially important, as it allows to constantly produce a token when there is no mana resources available.

Rampant Growth

Most mana accelerators are in the form of other elves such as Elvish Mystic . Nonetheless there is still a few sorceries meant to bring lands into play. Other notable cards include Oracle of Mul Daya , meant to filter through the top by putting out lands into play. Crop Rotation and Sylvan Scrying are two amazing land tutors and each has it advantages, with the instant trading lands and the sorcery giving a land drop for next turn.
