When I saw Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper spoiled in the BFZ set I knew I wanted to try to build something around him. The first thing that popped into my mind was a non-dragon oriented Esper Control deck. Then I had a change of heart. Izzet and Jeskai have always been my favorite colors, so I went that direction.

The fun part of this deck comes from the interaction between Jeskai Ascendancy + Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper . Since both of these trigger at the same time (when the instant/sorcery goes on the stack), you get to decide how the triggered abilitiesgo on the stack. Stacking the triggers correctly allows you to tap lands for mana to cast instants/sorceries, use Noyan's trigger to make one of those lands into a 3/3, and then since it is now a creature you get to untap it via the Acendancy trigger
