Welcome to the Jund family! These folks are just ordinary people... and things. Actually now that I think about it I don't think any of them are people. Whoops. Anyways. I wouldn't call them ordinary. Nothing close. They're anything but. The family is a happy bunch living on the plane of Amonkhet. They've had to adapt over time, but after a while they've completely gotten used to the hot, desert plane. This family is just your friendly neighborhood MTG mini-van driving, flower garden growing (somehow), pet owning family! Wiiiiith a few twists. They get in a lot of arguments with some "rivals" of theirs. From all the years of fighting and arguing, they've developed a way to become a powerful family and work together... usually. Here's a complete list of the family members!:
Walking Ballista - The last line of defense. It's purpose is to basically act like a ticking time bomb, and, over time, if it gets bad out there for the family, it'll come to help. That or just make very little impact on what's happening.
Sylvan Advocate
- The youngest of the family. He likes his space from the rest, because he gets time to think. The more space he gets, the more he thinks, and the more he thinks, the more powerful he gets.
Tireless Tracker - The adventurer! He isn't the youngest, but isn't the oldest, either. He loves to explore everything around him, and whenever he finds something cool (usually shiny) he decides to look into it more. He's always looking for something, and the more he finds the more excited he gets, making him all the more energetic.
Gonti, Lord of Luxury - The old, boring uncle who's almost never around. Only when things get bad does he show up to try and help by taking things that aren't actually his, but usually he's off hiding somewhere avoiding all the drama.
Woodland Wanderer
- Tireless Tracker's best friend! They go most places together, but sometimes
Woodland Wanderer
isn't available so Tireless Tracker goes exploring alone. He doesn't really like violence, which is the main reason he's not around much. Only in serious situations does he come about.
Glorybringer - The family's pet dragon! He's a big threat to anyone who stands in the way of the Jund family, but it does take some coaxing to get him up and moving. It's usually later that he comes about, but when he does, it's trouble.
Ishkanah, Grafwidow - The mother of everyone! She's not necessarily the birth mother (obviously), but is their mother figure. She watches over everything, and when too many things go wrong, she comes out with her little friends of spiders. Sometimes, though, she'll just come out, even if things are ok and nothing has gone horribly wrong.
Noxious Gearhulk - The big brother! He thinks he can just do anything he wants while also helping the family, and a lot of the time he can. He even tries to 1-up mama Ishkanah, which doesn't usually work. But his help is certainly needed, as he can be a last resort sometimes.
Heart of Kiran - The family mini-van! Oh yeah, it can also turn into an attack cruiser if needed.
Traverse the Ulvenwald - The family's big road trip! Every so often they all pile in the mini-van and take a trip down to the plane of Innistrad, to their favorite vacation location, Ulvenwald! Sometimes, they even bring a few friends with them, like
Woodland Wanderer
.
Fatal Push - One of the family's greatest memories: when they defeated the last of their former rivals by kicking them off a ledge into the deep dark depths of what lies below.
Magma Spray - Represented as mom (Ishkanah, Grafwidow)'s yell. She get MAD if you step out of line. Sometimes she even sends them to their room if they're bad enough. Now, if it's an opponent, then that's a different story.
Harnessed Lightning - That time that some of their neighbors decided to help them out. They saw they were in trouble, and were pretty stoked to be able to join the fight.
Hissing Quagmire - The literal last resort for the Jund family. Only in times of need does the Quag come to help.
Maybe you'll be able to meet the Jund family some day! I'm quite sure they'd love to meet you!
In all seriousness, I'll explain the deck now. The deck doesn't have much of a theme besides big creatures. I mean, that's what midrange is right? The build is more or less just Jund Midrange with a delirium theme. The best cards in the deck are definitely Ishkanah, Grafwidow, Traverse the Ulvenwald, and Tireless Tracker. I haven't played the deck yet, but I'm hoping to very soon and start taking it to my LGS for tournaments. If you like the deck, please +1 Upvote, share, leave suggestions, whatever! Just don't copy it and show it off as your own. Because I will hunt you down. And it will not end well for you. I mean what?
