Hi folks,

After making some MUCH needed upgrades to the sideboard, I took elves out for a spin at FNM as well as Sunday Modern at my LGS.

Overall, I went 5-1 across the two days, beating Affinity, Lantern Control, Hatebears, Superfriends, and Suicide Zoo. My only loss was to Living End, which I kept slow hands against.

One observation aside from the much needed board improvements was that Shaman being this deck's major out against unfair decks or prison decks. When fighting off Lantern and Hatebears, Shaman allowed me to deal lethal or near-lethal at instant speed, creating explosive finishes to games. For example, In my Affinity match, I was able to CoCo into two Shamans for 18, and then swing for the kill. In my Lantern game, my opponent had double bridges down. I basically goldfished my deck into a late-game CoCo, dropping ANOTHER (!!) pair of Shamans for 26.

I can't drink the Kool-Aid that the GW Elves people are peddling. GB Elves has access to poorer Sideboard options, but Shaman of the Pack is too good of a card to lose for a better sideboard. I never board out my Shamans, and they have won me more games than I can remember. NOT OPTIONAL!!!
