Arbor Elf + Freed from the Real + Utopia Sprawl
The idea of this deck is to reach infinite mana and then pump it all into a Blue Sun's Zenith:draw spell to infinitely mill your opponents to death. This also helps in the situation that should you have an unfortunate draw, you can use a draw spell to draw 5 to 7 new cards! The best possible play here is to
Turn 2 win.
Turn 1:
1) Play a Forest and then an Arbor Elf.
Turn 2:
1) Play another Forestand play a Utopia Sprawl (Choosing Blue for the color).
2) Tap the forest for .
3) Use Arbor Elf to untap the Forest. Tap the forest again for floating.
4) Spend for Freed from the Real enchanting the Arbor Elf.
5) Spend the last into Freed from the Real's untap ability to untap the Arbor Elf
6) Repeat the process..
a. Tap Arbor Elf to untap Forest with Utopia Sprawl.
b. Tap Forest for .
c. Pay to Freed from the Real and untap the Arbor Elf
7) At some point, don't untap the Arbor Elf and just keep the extra .
8) Play a
Goblin Cannon
or a Stroke of Genius and MILL FOR 789012343 CARDS!
If you get a different draw there are still many ways to win turn 3 but that is the only way to win turn 2. You could still win turn 2 if you are lucky enough to have a Fertile Ground in hand which you can cast with your infinite and
Looking to make this deck better? A good place to start would be to get Dryad Arbors. These are pricey but worth as they work as both lands for land enchantments and Pemmin's Aura for a neat single piece infinite mana machine.
Another card that goes really well in this deck is
Simic Growth Chamber
. Even though it does require you to wait until turn 3 to win, it does not require a land enchantment so if you draw
Simic Growth Chamber
+ Any Creature + Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura and at least one other land, you win!
The main advantage to this deck is that should you lack a Pemmin's Aura (for example) but you do have a draw spell. Just use the draw spell to dig a few cards in and get what you need.
A note on Blue Sun's Zenith. Though it is a fine card, it requires to cast and while possible with this deck, it is not as dependable as just needing for Stroke of Genius or for
Braingeyser
. The best fix for either of these is to run
Goblin Cannon
or
Sands of Delirium
which are just fine with colorless mana.
A note on Read the Runes vs Prosperity vs Braingeyser. After you reach infinite mana, both Read the Runes and Prosperity have a way to win by drawing 50 cards or so and then casting a Stroke of Genius to make them draw their labraries. The problem with Prosperity is it puts lots of cards in you opponents hand to play against you. This would let them just Cancel and Pact of Negation your Stroke of Genius's, leaving you with no more win conditions. On the other hand, Read the Runes lets you get the death draw you need, but if your opponent has a Negate and counters your draw spell, you will not have any more draws in hand and only a few more cards in your deck! Furthermore, for Read the Runes to work, you must find a way to get that second which is hard to do on turn 2. The alternative to both of these is
Braingeyser
which, while will not work on turn 2, but will draw your opponent to death. So take your pick! And please comment which won YOU think is best. Just look at my deck to see my choice.
