Sideboard


This variation of the classic Dr Seuss is designed to take advantage of the new mutate mechanic. Two of these cards bring have mutate abilities that are able to recur Time Walk, namely Lore Drakkis and Vadrok. In order to take advantage of these creatures I have minimised the number of humans in the deck, favouring small evasive creatures which are able to take advantage of the stats boost from Drakkis and Sea-Dasher Octopus, the latter being a solid value piece which can be flashed in to trigger onboard mutants.

The point spread is:

Time Walk (4); Karakas (1); Underworld Breach (1); and Lutri (1).

Karakas is in the deck as a part of an infinite turns combo with Vadrok, Apex of Thunder as it does not exile the card that you are able to cast for free with it's mutate trigger. As such with 5 mana and a small creature or 4 mana and a token generator, time walk in grave and Karakas, you are able to mutate Vadrok, cast time walk for free and bounce the mutant Vadrok back to hand to repeat the process in you extra turn (ad infinitum).

To take further advantage of Karakas we have Venser, Lutri, and Vendilion Clique. Oh and I also threw in Mist-Syndicate Naga because we already have cheap fliers and he gets a bit silly with sea-dasher octopus.
