Madness is a complex ability to use, but can be awesome in the right circumstances. If you can discard a card at instant speed, than Madness becomes "Flash". Anje Falkenrath then adds the line "When you cast this spell for it's Madness cost, draw a card" to every Madness card. Essentially, if Anje is on the battlefield, then you can play the > 40 Madness cards in this deck at instant speed and they replace themselves in your hand. The card replacement is the key mechanic here: the win strategy is to cast more spells than your opponents so as to overrun your opponents with the variety of creatures and creature-removal spells that have Madness.

The deck becomes truly dangerous if you get 1 or 2 of the cards out that passively triggers when you discard or cast a Madness card: - Dying to Serve - Archfiend of Ifnir - Bone Miser - Feast of Sanity - Surly Badgersaur - Kami of Celebration - Wild-Magic Sorcerer - Nalfeshnee - Passionate Archaeologist

There are also several other "discard a card in exchange for something good" cards in this deck in case Anje is removed:

  • Moria Scavenger (straight-up Anje replacement)
  • Key to the City (and Underworld Cookbook) (Free, instant-speed discard)
  • Gibbering Descent, Necrogoyf (and Creeping Dread) (drive all opponents toward top-decking)
  • Argentum Masticore (super-useful permanent removal) and Rotting Regisaur "Now THAT'S a zombie!" (don't expect this to un-live long anyway)
  • Jaxis, the Troublemaker (card advantage with a free attacking creature)
  • Tortured Existence (discard to draw a creature card from your graveyard - it's still card advantage, but the card comes from your graveyard instead of library)
  • Honourable mentions: Pack Rat, Cryptbreaker, Bag of Holding, Grimoire of the Dead, Wolf of Devil's Breach

I should mention that this deck was very cheap to buy the cards for, with the exceptions of the two tutors I happen to already own (you don't really need them anyway) and Passionate Archaeologist. You could also forgo Bone Miser, Nalfeshnee and Wild-Magic Sorcerer to make it even more ridiculously cheap. Just toss in some red artifact removal and Feed the Swarm, and away you go.
