Sideboard

grixis control. with Master of Cruelties and AEtherling as wincons.

Dreadbore and Hero's Downfall give all the spotremoval we need.

4 Thoughtseize t1 discard on pretty much anything. its strong.

5 burnspells kill dorks, aggro Jace, Architect of Thought(everyone almost always puts him to 2c) and a finisher after Master of Cruelties(5 burns is a tad low and i would pref to have 6 but cant realy miss anything)

3 Anger of the Gods simply said to kill aggro and tokens from a resolved elspeth.

counterspell makeup contains 2 Syncopate and 4 Counterflux We play Counterflux over Dissolve since while the scry1 is usefull i rather like the certainty that what i counter will be stopped. Feels good stopping AEtherling with it.

Opportunity like to draw big? but dont have Sphinx's Revelation? well this is the thing. with a draw of 4 for 6 it cant get much better than this.

and finally our wincons. their quite simple realy. AEtherling who is practically a staple wincon for blue control. and Master of Cruelties tha master forced my opponent to kill their own creatures or risk a burnspell for gg. the master works wonders against aggro/midrange. this is grixis so our opponent shouldnt have many creatures out if any at all. a real cruel choice. kill my last creature or risk that burnspell(i bet he has one)

The sideboard

3 Shock cheap spotremoval kills most if not all 1-2drops in aggro. exta burn for the Master.

2 Far / Away additional removal. mainly against hexproof/indestructible.

1 Anger of the Gods more wipe capabilitys.

2 Crypt Incursion all that isst killed by AotG fuels this. easy capable of gaining me 15+ life. cripples reanimator(though not seen alot).

3 Slaughter Games removes all i want. wincons couterspells etc.

3 Negate stopping counterspells plainswalkers D-sphere burn.

1 Dispel 1 mana to stop Sphinx's Revelation can be used on counterspells and burn too.

against control:

-4 Master of Cruelties hes genrally just dead he either gets exiled or just verdicted.

-3 Anger of the Gods only thing this card actually does is kill Elspeth tokens. since all are sided out stopping elspeth's entry is a must.

+3 Slaughter Games +3 Negate +1 Dispel

Against control Master of Cruelties is just a dead card. It's generally dies by Supreme Verdict the turn it enters or gets a Detention Sphere or even Last Breath to endure and just doest exsist a single turn against them.

New plan is to win with AEtherling and Thoughtseize wincons. Slaughter Games to kill counterspells or wincons need to pick either since doing both is out of question.

against aggro:

-2 AEtherling he just to slow againt aggro. soonest comes out a t7 and even then...

if mono-red:

-4 Thoughtseize cant realy afford the lifeloss against these.

-2 Counterflux

other forms:

-2 Thoughtseize or -2 Syncopate personal choise. depends on being on draw and how fast their deck is/can be etc.

-4 Counterflux

+3 Shock +2 Far / Away +1 Anger of the Gods and +2 Crypt Incursion

Sideing in more and cheaper removal.

Against aggro were focussing on Master of Cruelties as wincon since in all my games AEtherling is just to slow. unless i have the best possible draws he just issnt suited for it.

-1 Slaughter Games -3 Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver -2 Jace, Memory Adept -2 Ultimate Price

+3 Shock +1 Anger of the Gods +3 Negate +1 Dispel

AotG for more wipe against aggro and Shock makes a great early play against them and serves as increased burn card for Master of Cruelties

Negate and Dispel are the additional counterspells vs control paired with Slaughter Games and Thoughtseize
