The Mimeoplasm (phyresis is perfection!)

Commander / EDH Aggro BUG (Sultai) Combo Competitive Infect

Doppelgengar

Sideboard

This is my competitive infect deck! Not my first EDH deck but it is by far my most favorite.

Will keep updating, only hard part is it fits well where its at. So its tiny replacements from here out to see how they fit. Newest additions being veil of summer and uro, covers things, draws, and im not running counterspells so that helps there.

Also, there is a turn 2 kill in the deck ;) can you find it?

So, i am not running every infect creature possible. I tried that once before and it wasn't reliable, i often would find myself sitting there with an empty hand and no creatures. all of them would die too easily, or that the creature itself didn't have a strong enough ability. Im keeping just the ones that can close the gap because of ability or function with other creatures or spells.

Here ill talk about some strategies and give some insight on why i use some cards.

First up is Dark Ritual, this card is perfect in every way for this deck. a turn one ritual into a crusader, necropotence, entomb to reanimate, will make games turn in my favor very quickly. Now, im not running many buff spells and that's because the deck doesn't just drop creatures and swing. So I don't have a use for a lot of buffs. (Also always remember! your creatures will die any chance your opponent gets, no one likes infect.)

The buff spells i do run like Invigorate, give an opponent +3 life and its free. Become Immense is a possible 1 green for +6/+6. Vines of Vastwood because of the hexproof and +4/+4. Berserk 1 green to double creatures power (also works as removal). Stonewood Invocation split second, shroud, and +5/+5 so it covers bases. Then theres Unspeakable Symbol, pay 3 life and you put a +1/+1 counter on an infect creature.

Also, i used to run a lot more spells that proliferate, but for a 1v1 game it wasn't fast enough.

a hand you typically want to take is one with at least 1 creature with infect, although its not terrible to take a hand with just spells. the deck can get very early game wins and drop scary threats very quickly, but try not to overextend, as i mentioned before no one likes infect. so if you just drop things without a plan your stuff wont survive.
