This Deck is not modern legal
This is the deck I pull out when someone has really pissed me off. It's deadly, fast, and crammed full of cards that are banned in most formats. It's about killing your own creatures, and getting huge advantages for it. The main win combo is Bogbrew Witch + Bubbling Cauldron + Festering Newt
and supported by Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder + Skullclamp
and the infinite kill combo Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond
. With Dark Ritual + Sol Ring
you can cast almost any card turn 1 or 2. Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is the newest edition, so I haven't worked him into my combos yet, but I see great potential in this card. Playtesting Ashnod's Altar as a possible way to ramp up my mana even more. It also seems to compliment skullclamp very well Ashnod's Altar + Skullclamp
is very effective, giving you 2 cards and a colorless mana by sacrificing your creature
Breakdown:
Festering Newt part of the bogbrew witch combo. If he dies with a bogbrew witch in play you can give an opponent's creature -4/-4. Sacrifice multiples to kill bigger creatures. His main play is going to to sacrifice him to the cauldron, gaining 4 life and costing your opponent 4 life
Blood Artist good for amplifying the sac engine. He increases the punishment for sacrificing your own creatures. His main use is in the bogbrew witch combo, where he increases the damage and life gain,x1=5(max 20), x2=6(max 24), x3=7(max 28), x4=8(max 32) per turn life lost and health gained
Skirsdag High Priest with such a great sac engine why wouldn't you. His 5/5 demon token is one of the only good attackers in the Deck, and with the sac engine you're always set up for morbid. Crypt ghast makes a great target, as does endrek sahr, because they don't attack
Crypt Ghast by playing a mana, casting dark ritual and then Sol ring, you can summon this creature turn 1. Assuming he survives and you have a second land, you'll have 6 mana turn 2. His extort ability is also useful, as indirect damage and life gain are key concepts to this deck
Bogbrew Witch aside from being a tutor for newts and cauldrons, you need her in play to get the most out of the combo. Her first tutor needs to be the bubbling cauldron if you don't have one on the field, so that it will be untapped when you go for the newt. Sol ring is particularly effective with her, as it gives you the exact cost for her tutor ability
Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder his 1/1 thrulls have to go somewhere and skullclamp is the answer, 1 mana to draw 2 cards and keeping the number of thrulls below 7 makes him a lot more effective. This combo will always leave your hand full, and if you collect too many tokens, just clamp him and let him die. His tokens also work with skirsdag high priest, as they enter the battlefield untapped and generally in number
Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker the newest edition to the necromancers cauldron but a very versatile card for this deck. He combos directly with the newt, bringing them back from the graveyard at the end of every turn.
Dark Ritual a neat way to put Crypt Ghast into play turn 1. It can get you out of a tight spot when you're having trouble with mana, and in a strange twist. You can use the mana it generates to extort it with crypt ghast
Elixir of Immortality a decent cheap source for life gain and a way to get back all the creatures you stuff into the cauldron. It's mainly to pull the newts back into your deck so you can keep using them to tear up your opponent.
Skullclamp "I'll give him the clamp" there is a reason this is one of the most banned cards ever to exist, this card is BROKEN. Mostly used too fuel the sac engine, partially used to prove a point, but mostly just abused every time it sees play.
Sol Ring possibly the most powerful mana generating artifact in the game. It is banned in most formats for a reason. It allows you an instant dominating lead in mana and can combo with dark ritual to let you play 80% of the cards in the deck on turn 1.
Bubbling Cauldron gives you life in exchange for your creatures. Clamp anything, sac it to the cauldron and draw cards. Simple. Even without the rest of the bogbrew witch combo this card still stands out, it works well with elixir of immortality (netting 9 life gain), skirsdag high priest, blood artist, and if you have a sanguine bond in play it has the effect of sacing a newt anyways
Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond
both spells are great by themselves with this deck ( ex: sacrificing a newt to the cauldron will either net 8 life gained or 8 damage dealt) but together they create an infinite combo that's about impossible to stop.
Idea play:
Hand: dark ritual, Sol ring, crypt ghast, bogbrew witch, endrek sahr, master breeder, swamp, skullclampTurn 1: play swamp, cast dark ritual, cast Sol ring (Tap for 2), cast crypt ghast Turn 2: play swamp, cast endrek sahr, cast skullclamp Turn 3: (not likely to have another swamp for awhile), cast bogbrew witch (creates 4 1/1 thrulls), equip 2 thrulls with skullclamp(they die you draw 4 cards)Turn 4: tap bogbrew witch to fetch bubbling cauldron (or festering newt if you drew a cauldron, sacrifice it to the bubbling cauldron; thereby giving one of their creatures -4/-4, your opponent's losing 4 life, and you gaining that much), keep playing cards, sacrificing thrulls as you cast creatures. This pretty much keeps grinding down your opponent in every way until you win. By turn 6-8 you should be able to deal around 50 damage a turn, gain 55-60 life, and be able to draw about 20 cards a turn ( that's why elixir of immortality is important)
