This is rework of The Progenitus for Zendikar Standard play. A concept I'd developed a few months back, and for good times.
With that said... I'd reiterate my question from this decks debut: Have you ever faced a Progenitus in your meta-game magic history? I'm told there's a forum dedicated to those who have lost games to it... it's that bad! Let it get into play and see just how bad it is!
This deck exploits 2010 methods (and some of Zendikar) to accomplish that goal specifically.
The primary concept is simple. Stall your opponent long enough with Blue's "draw go" methodology. Use your counter magics such as Cancel, Essence Scatter and certainly
Summoner's Bane
as well. Employ further bounce mechanics as threats stack up; these are your primary defenses. In the event that your opponent manages to get a threat on the table, persuade that creature to join your forces via
Mind Control
magics! Your primary objective is to produce a single token, copy, or controlled creature; how hard can that possibly be?! Once you've got one, and you are holding Polymorph, it's time to transmogrify whatever you have in play unto the great Progenitus!
From that point, suggest your opponent visit the a fore mentioned forum to post of their loss; as The Prog is exceptionally hard to deal with.
HINT: While I wanted to mirror the original and keep it as Blue as possible; I'd highly suggest splashing a bit of White and running a more Blue/White control mechanic. Spell's like Day of Judgment and certainly Path to Exile, maybe even Silence would add enough umph to this deck to maybe make some competitive play. See what ya think and enjoy!
