Elder Deep-Fiend returns in this potent shell which shares similarities with the contemporary Marvel decks.Rogue Refiner and Whirler Virtuoso make wonderful creatures to emerge into Elder Deep Fiend for just four mana!. The four copies of Bristling Hydras can totally take over a game by themselves so emerging one into EDF is not the greatest of plans in my opinion. But, it's an option. You'll have tons of energy to play with in this deck. You'll have counter magic and card draw and spot removal. EDF is truly one of the most powerful and underused cards in standard. Flashing in on your opponents upkeep and tapping down 4 permanents is ridiculous! Linking multiple EDF together is an utter nightmare for the person across from you. I just went 4-0 at my Thursday night shop Standard 8 week league. This deck was amazing! I beat u/w control, g/r energy, b/u control, and temur aetherworks marvel. In fact, I only lost one game the whole night as I won 2-1 against the black/blue control.
