I've been playing commander almost since its inception. I've played every possible type of deck and honestly, I'm a little bored. That boredom brought the idea that instead of the theme deck along the lines of slivers or soldiers I build one themed on a specific time in history. I had a few options (other may become decks in the future) but I finally settled on the Russian Revolution (also known as the Bolshevik Revolution). My first thought was of Rasputin and Rasputin Dreamweaver seemed like a fine choice for a commander. The more I thought about it though, Rasputin was only one piece in a much bigger puzzle. I needed Tsar Nicolas II as the general and who better to symbolize a man who butchered his own people than Reaper King!

Here is the main cast of characters:

The Family:

Alix Romanov (wife): Alexi, Zephyr Mage

Alexander III (father): Noble Benefactor

Maria (mother): Noble Hierarch

Olga Nikolaevna (daughter): Olivia Voldaren / Iona

Tatiana Nikolaevna (daughter): Falkenrath Aristocrat / Sigarda

Maria Nikolaevna (daughter): Falkenrath Noble / Gisela

Anastasia Nikolaevna (daughter): Captain Sisay / Avacyn

Alexi Nikolaevna (son): Stromkirk Noble / Child of Alara

The whole family were canonized by the Catholic church after their death (the 1980's I think) so the kids have their human versions and their sainted angelic versions. Alexi was a sickly child who spent a lot of time under the "care" of Rasputin so I see him more as a vengeful saint hence Child of Alara.

Killed with the family:

Grigori Rasputin: Rasputin Dreamweaver

Eugene Botkin (family physicia): Hua Tou, Honored Physician

Anna Demidova (maid): Sakashima the Impostor

Ivan Kharitonov (cook): Rhox War Monk

Alexei Trupp (footman): Driver of the Dead

The Enemies:

Vladamir Lenin: Ertai, the Corrupted

Georgy Lvov: Edric

Leon Trotsky: Karmic Guide

Yakov Yurovsky (firing squad leader): Brigid, Hero of Kinsbale

The Red Guard (soldiers of the bulshevik revolution):

Sun Quan, Lord of Wu

Knight of the Reliquary

Knight of New Alara

Hero of Bladehold

I spent a lot of time thinking about cards that sounded on theme even if they aren't exactly optimal for a Commander deck. Angry Mob was the very first card I thought of once I had the commander down. Other cards like Dark Confidant, Insurrection and Conspiracy were instantly in. Plus I have a Russian Conspiracy so its even more on theme. Having Conspiracy in the deck meant that even thought it is 100% on theme Reaper Kings ability would be relevant thus making the deck actually viable in games.
