Samut is an amazing card.

Paradox Engine is broken...especialy with things like...

Bloom TenderCaptain Sisay Kiki JikiYisan

This is not a teir 1 deck... however it is very fun and quite strong with the ability to win against pretty much any other casual deck. I have had a blast piloting this brew for the last month or so, and my win percentage in my Local LGS has increased significantly using it.

We have a pretty diverse playgroup with only a couple of guys playing tier 1 to 1.5 decks. For the most part I see a lot of Atraxa(Super-friends), Omnath RG (Elemental Landfall), Oloro (Pillow Fort), Alesha (reanimator) , Kozilek Butcher (Basalt/Rings/Staff COMBO) Tribal Slivers, all of which I feel like I can beat very consistently. The big exception being... Food Chain Prosh... Food Chain Prosh wrecks me... i'm just not fast enough for it... I see this deck on a regular basis and it is consistently faster, setting up for a win typically as fast as turn 3... That being said I am assuming most of the Tier 1 - 1.5 decks would eat this one alive. This deck sets up to win on turns 5-7 and requires more than two pieces to go off.

Keeping all that in mind.. this deck can do some very special and unique things. For instance having access to Captain Sisay and Kiki Jiki can set up an awesome interaction with Yisan, Couple these guys with the incredibly broken Paradox Engine and you can essentially play out your entire deck with the proper sequencing.

Selvala, Heart of the Wilds

Selvala... There are so many things to say about this card. To call it amazing would possibly be an understatement. She generates one extra Mana of any color simply by paying one G... This efectivly makes her a 3 drop Signet on a stick with no other creatures on the board.. that is value and would probably see play even if it didn't have the rest of the amazing modes... got a 3P creature.. get two extra mana, 4p .. three extra...etc. All of any color you need.

Her first ability allows for you to draw a card whenever a creature with the largest power enters the battlefield ... this mode in the deck is underutilized. While it is actually possible to keep getting bigger and bigger creatures with captain Sisay or Yisan, I rarely if ever find myself going out of my way to get the max value out of this... The deck is set up to tutor most of the time in lue of card draw... mewstly. There are some exceptions obviously with the inclusion of Rishkar's expertise, Harmonize, Kozilek. However these are mostly value plays or can allow you to find the tutor you need to go and get Sisay.

One final note on Selvala ...

So where does Samut Fit in?

While this could most certainly be considered a three color Captian Sisay deck, Samut can actually play a vital role in getting your engine rolling. Need to untap a creature for mana? Better yet.. Need a way to untap Selvala? Well look no further than your command zone! One white mana untaps any creature you control ... and since most of them tap to do awesome things... what could be better than two activations! The untap ability is quite good and fits in nicely with a large majority of the deck.

Samut can also pressure the board in a few different ways. She is a commander that loves to swing... and oddly enough loves to die. I have never felt bad about swinging into an Atraxa or some other large threat with Samut... Best case scenario they block and Atraxa dies... worst case scenario they take 6 commander damage... either way honestly feels like a win. The more equipment you give Samut the higher that scenario scales... It is not a stretch at all to win by killing an opponent with commander damage ... as double strike is a very real thing... The deck tries to capitalize on this by playing a small voltron equipment package along with Stoneforge Mystic. This goes the other way as well... being attacked by a large threat? Often times Samut can be flashed in to block and kill the attacker. However I find myself playing her at the first available moment most often which is normally on a main phase. The Ramp in the deck often leads to playing her a turn early as well so setting her up turn four to play Paradox Engine or Sisay can often lead to an instant win because of the haste she gives all your creatures. Oh yeah... She gives haste to all your creatures... which is awesome... because once you have played out your entire deck... just swing for the lulz... no most people just scoop if they cant interact with Paradox Engine going off a couple of times.

I would love to make this deck faster. But this is what I have so far.
