The Scarab God draw discard eternalize

Standard* Competitive UB (Dimir)

angrysword1345

When The Scarab God was first spoiled, I knew we had, well, a god. Yes he might have a CMC of five, which is pretty high in any competitive format, if you play control you can stall it out and make sure once the god drops, you can eternalize one of our killer cards next turn, that being slither blade or wildfire eternal. Wildfire eternal can be switched out for any card with a great ability and a power below 4, but I think he's a great card for this sort of scenario. Slither blade is an obvious choice. A good game would look like this. Land drops are essential to our success here, and they need to be hit every single turn. Turn 1: drop your land and wait, drop a slither blade or keep an unsummon ready if you have them. Turn 2: drop your second land, and play a seeker of insight if you have it. If you don't, keep that disruption card ready. Turn 3: The golden rule here is that you MUST play a draw discard spell on this turn. Hopefully you've stalled your opponent one turn so they have to recast that creature they played last turn without haste. Whatever the case or the consequence, play your draw discard. If you've hit on one of our designated "killers" immediately drop them into the graveyard. Without question. If not you'll have probably hit another one of our draw discard spells by now, the scarab god, or hour of eternity. Turn 4: Depending on board state and what you have in your hand, play another draw discard or keep your control spells. Turn 5: Scarab god if the conditions are right, if not play a draw discard, you've got enough left over for a disruption spell. Rinse repeat until you have the scarab god/hour of eternity in your hand and one of the killer cards in your graveyard. Scarab god is ideal here but hour of eternity is ok too. Eternalize one of said killers and get to work. Keep going with the plan.
