A deck based around pumping
Chasm Skulker
, one of the coolest creatures in standard right now.
Card Explanation/Key Combos
Key Combo (Draw Engine):
Bident of Thassa
+
Chasm Skulker
+
Master of Waves
If your opponent lets this combo happen, he basically loses the game. Pumping Your
Chasm Skulker
with +5/+5 or more every turn is too much to handle.
Card Explanations:
Creatures:
Chasm Skulker
. The core of this deck. This creature can get incredibly big incredibly fast. If not immediately answered even dying isn't a problem.
Master of Waves
. Works really well with
Chasm Skulker
and Bident of Thassa, and can also function as a secondary wincon, especially against the mono-red aggro decks that are in the meta right now.
Thassa, God of the Sea. Gives unblockable, and was proven to be insane in mono-blue devotion decks last year.
Dakra Mystic
. Can definitely get you some of the cards you need faster than usual, and quite frankly, often serves as a chump blocker
Hypnotic Siren. Evasive
Military Intelligence
trigger. Can possibly steal big threats, especially in the U/B control matchup with
Pearl Lake Ancient
.
Other Spells:
Removal:
Disdainful Stroke
: Good in many matchups, though please please please side them out against decks like Mono-Red aggro and Mono-Black aggro.
Negate protects.
Force Away
functions as a way to stall the game before
Chasm Skulker
and
Master of Waves
hit the board.
Taigam's Scheming makes the deck more consistent, giving you the early draws you want.
Card Draw:
Dictate of Kruphix
functions as one of the main ways to help pump
Chasm Skulker
, or draw into one if you don't have it in your hand.
Military Intelligence
functions as a quick way to get the card draw running at the start of the game, combo-ing with Hypnotic Siren.
Bident of Thassa works really well if you have
Master of Waves
on the board (and a skulker). If you don't however, it isn't ridiculously useful, although still combos well with Hypnotic Siren. Hence the reason of there only being three of these in the deck.
Please leave suggestions in the comments. Currently thinking of what to put in the sideboard.
By the way, the deck is based on a youtube video I can't seem to find anymore. :/
