You know it, you love it. Suspending cards! This deck does that. Jhoira has always been a commadner that I've been drawn too, because a deck using her can be intensely flexible as to what it wants to do. I've always loved the idea of suspending cards, but with Jhoira it suspends it for nearly no time at all.

So let's get into the nitty gritty of this list.

Lands

So the lands are pretty self explanatory as far as commander items are concerned. I try to avoid too many of the -Enters Play Tapped- lands in these colors to avoid instances of being unable to put my commander out as quickly as possible. There are a few exceptions I'd like mention, mainly the cycle lands and the Temple of Epiphany because those cards help me get some value when my hand isn't looking great. I've also got Tolaria West in here to fetch up any of my utility lands or just grab Wheel of Fate or Mana Crypt.

Control

When you're showing your opponents what's coming their way, you have to be holding some sort of answer for what they're prepared for it. This is where our control package comes in. A few people in our play group play Gaddock Teeg so this package also include some ways to make him go away as well. Many are self explanatory and the only one that really stands out is Reality Strobe which combos well with Paradox Haze which we will talk about in a moment.

I need a Minute

When playing Jhoira of the Ghitu you're gonna need to buy some time, and there are a ton of ways to manipulate time counters. Some are simple, one time removal of counters like Timecrafting and Fury Charm, but there are other, repeatable functions of removing time counters as well. My favorite being Paradox Haze which speeds up your clock by an extra turn each time around the board. Gotta be careful though, because I've found it can have some negative reactions for upkeep triggers on my turn that I don't control.

Why we can't have Nice Things

Sometimes, you just want to clear the path for your bad boys hanging out in suspense. Sometimes, you're a terrible person and play cards like Decree of Pain and Obliterate. When I'm not being a terrible person, Cyclonic Rift and Blasphemous Act do the job pretty nicely.

Ramp it Up

This deck runs some ramp. It gets you more mana. That's how it works. All artifacts and artifact land ramp because I'm in U/R.

Doing the Time Warp

Sometimes you need an extra turn, sometimes two or three, chain em together and it usually lands you a win. Temporal Manipulation and Time Stretch do that job nicely.

Islands are foil Lorwyn #287

Mountains are foil Battle For Zendikar #267

Still looking for a Judge Wheel of Fortune, but they're a bit out of budget at the moment.
