Went to a Star City Games Convention and found a few copies of Bitter Ordeal, after much deliberation, this is my best guess as to what it should be used for.

Good ol' classic Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry + Urza, Lord High Artificer combo, but with the secondary win condition of your opponent not having any cards in their library, 'cause no deck is complete without a plan B

With the Urza combo out, we can make infinite blue mana, infinite ETB and Leave triggers, infinite life gain... but no haste for same turn infinite dmg, so the opponent has 1 turn to overload Vandalblast or any other artifact sweeper. So we need to use Urza's second ability to start digging for something to end the game that turn. Bitter Ordeal is the card that comes to mind for me and Chromatic Star can fix that blue mana into black if ordeal is in hand. No dmg requirement, just rip infinite cards from library and they'll lose on "pass turn"... Yeah yeah, Labratory Maniac is a card, well, then leave them with only lands and beat down next turn.
