Tibalt is ready to gatecrash the party in Crimson Vow

Trickery

Unlike other Tibalt's Trickery decks in the past few rotations, this deck is designed not just to hard gamble but to ramp into different spells that helps you in any stages of the game. With Innistrad, there are new cards to increase your chances to get better pulls out of his trickery.

Side note: This deck is made for BO3 not BO1 since I made this to play against real people in my place lol

  • Consider is one of the best cantrips printed in recent years. The fact that you will get an extra card draw and a filter to the graveyard helps you dig for more spells and reduces the odds of whiffing with Tibalt.

  • Play with Fire is a toned down version of Magma Jet which is still good in killing small creatures as well as dealing damage to a player. The scry will also help you filter your next draw and increases the odds of pulling a payoff spell.

  • Abrade is another flexible burn and artifact removal like Esika's Chariot

  • Path to the Festival is our ramp spell, scrys and it has flashback. You can also use this for Tibalt's Trickery to counter it and hoping for a payoff. I don't really mind if this shows up in his Trickery since it helps me ramp for a land.

  • Quandrix Cultivator is another ramp spell that provides you a decent body as well as untapped forest or island [which is better to cast Consider when needed].

  • The Tarrasque is your biggest jackpot that you can have. The fact that you can have it Haste and Ward 10 can remove a defender and finish the game for you. Also, since Tibalt's Trickery says "...you may cast that card...", you will get the cast trigger of The Tarrasque

  • Koma, Cosmos Serpent has been terrorizing in standard for a while. As long as you keep it in the battlefield, your opponents will hesitate to attack you or attempt to destroy it...unless they exile it, bounce it or Divide by Zero

  • Bramble Wurm it is an uncommon card but this big reaching monster will trample your opponents without ease...plus gaining 5 life is such a big deal in this deck...and you can gain more life even this card is in the graveyard.

  • Magma Opus is our replacement for Inspired Ultimatum. Gives damage, taps two permanents, extra card draw, a creature and another ramp spell through treasure tokens.

  • Alternate Replacement: Creative Outburst is a close spell for Inspired Ultimatum, its cheaper (both moneywise and casting cost), deals straight 5 damage and pick 1 from the top 5 cards of your library.

  • Burn Down the House is your primary boardwipe against early game aggresive creatures and some planeswalkers. The devils are negligible and rarely used in this deck...Wait I lied! I can use these devils to aggro my opponent when I switch to aggro [more to be discussed below]

  • Battle of Frost and Fire is your secondary boardwipe as well as perfect setup for Trickery through Scry 3. The additional draw on the third chapter of this saga digs for more spells to cast since most of the cards in this deck have converted mana cost of 5 or greater.

  • Quandrix Command a flexible command spell that fits on this deck. Most of the time, you will use this spell to bounce a creature and to shuffle some cards from your graveyard back to your library. The most notable artifact spell that you will counter in its second mode is Esika's Chariot...or maybe Portable Hole. The +2/+2 counters is also good in some situations wherein you have creatures in the battlefield.

  • Glorious Sunrise another new enchantment spell that definitely helps our deck to survive against aggro decks. A turn 3 of this will definitely give you a lot of advantage - casting one of your big payoffs early, giving your creatures trample and +1/+1, drawing another card or gain 3 more life.

  • Unlike other Trickery decks, we're not putting all eggs in a basket hoping for an Ultimatum or Koma to show up. It can be anything...either a cantrip, a defensive spell or a payoff. Think of it as like Unexpected Results but narrower. Bet you liked a Turn 3 Omniscience from Unexpected Results when it was in standard or in a commander game. Either way, everything that you pull off in this deck will be useful. Sometimes, you will whiff from Trickery in the wrong timing but that's how randomness does.

  • Another good thing about this deck is you can do the Trickery anytime even in your opponent's turn because Consider and Play with Fire are very low costed instant spells and pull either a defensive spell or a payoff in your opponent's turn. For example, your opponent decides to crew Esika's Chariot and swing all out to you. You do the Trickery combo and luckily a boardwipe shows up and wipes the whole board on them.

  • In worst situations, you will use Trickery to counter big spells or any spell that you think that make your opponent wins like Alrund's Epiphany. You can also counter your own Trickery to fool your opponent...just be careful doing that with Lier, Disciple of the Drowned in the battlefield.

Coming soon when we find out the metagame for this new set.

Based on my two tournaments here in Sicily, Italy where my work is, I decided to revamp my deck as well as my sideboards. Im glad that we can play with real people in a best of 3.
