This is the non-DT version of my League Meta Build:

**Meta players are often very lacking in interaction, leading to two top players neutering each other while a Narset rams like Godo until it sticks. Goal is to play effective pieces that hate out majority of decks and potentially punish reliant combo decks with wheel effects with either RIP or deny draws with NT/PW Narset.

Other hangup is going full Thief/Wheels hurts with the occasional 3-man pods we have if numbers aren't multiples of four. Meta currently:**

  • Shuffle
  • Breakfast/Control Kess
  • Narset x2
  • Frog/Yisan (mentioned building a new deck)
  • PST Variant
  • Yisan x2
  • Keranos Blue Moon
  • Yuriko

  • First Sliver FC

  • CVT/Rumored Brago?
  • 4c Rashmi/Blood Pod
  • CVT/JVP or Control Kess (Out for next season)

Considering (marked as foil):

  • Stranglehold ~ Obvs insanely powerful, but is it too late game? Is Ashiok a better choice?
  • RIP ~ INSANE power level here, but maybe Ashiok instead? Helps with biggest problem decks outside of Narsets
  • Force of Negation ~ Next counter in? Zero mana counter seems solid, and deck doesn't feel reliant on card advantage
  • By Force // Vandalblast ~ feel like some specific artifact hate could be needed. At the cost of Wear/Tear, though?
  • Whispering Madness ~ Another wheel and exile/NT effect
  • Fire Covenant ~ Mainly pulled due to Narset prevalence, but solid wipe
  • Praetor's Grasp ~ Next tutor plus can neuter a LabMan and provide deck info
  • Cabal Ritual ~ Enables a faster Naus, quick ramp
  • Counterbalance package ~ SDT, Rack, Counterbalance seems strong but doesn't seem to fit here
  • Trickbind ~ definitely feels live in this meta, but not sure payoff of another turn is worth it
  • Burning Inquiry ~ Another wheel and exile/NT effect
  • Narset's Rev ~ Seems strong into Narset extra turns, etc. Doesn't always prevent things
  • Lavinia ~ Hurts ramp, players reliant on dorks/rocks, shuts off Dramatic Scepter/Narset - test piece, but perhaps Dampening Sphere is better here? Downside is DS allows Narset/Urza casts still
  • Angel's Grace ~ powerful synergy with Windfall, Naus, against LabMan decks but will it be dead often?

Chopping Block (marked as foil):

  • STIFLE ~ Going to test this tech!
  • Plunge Into Darkness ~ Essentially a tutor effect. Will life be an issue?
  • Red Elemental Blast & Pyroblast ~ Good, cheap, flexible protection piece. Correct in meta for both?
  • Cyclonic Rift ~ Great late, solid early
  • Wear / Tear ~ cheap, flexible and can cut Null Rod, B2B, Moon - main killers of the deck
  • Pyroclasm // Massacre // Fire Covenant // Anger of the gods // Supreme Verdict ~ Heavy creature meta but how many is too many? Massacre over Clasm? With Kess potential, should I bump to 3 (Anger) or Supreme to insure resolution?
  • Necropotence ~ Will the life loss and nonbo with Suppression Field hurt?
  • Yawgmoth's Will ~ no doubt it is powerful, but nonbo with RIP
  • Humility ~ Strong vs heavy CRT meta. High cost and possibly better in DT brew?

Latest Tweaks/Considerations:

  • Fire Covenant ~ Likely swap for Pyroclasm if Narset leaves meta; Liliana's Triumph a consideration
  • Stifle in for Angel's Grace

Check on land base once done. Considering second basic Island, Silent Clearing, or Fiery Islet for Forbidden Orchard/Wooded Foothills
