This deck is fun, and it's worked out well in most games I've played as of yet. The main theme of this deck is to exploit the combo between Angel of Jubilation and Aether Vortex as early as I can; Usually around turn 3 or 4; which will prevent creatures from being played, while preventing my opponent from playing noncreature spells with cards like Swan Song,
Render Silent
, Grand Abolisher, Counterspell Etc...
I thought it was a cool idea, and I hope others will agree! Please leave any comments, thoughts, or tips to improving the deck. THANK YOU!
Here is a list of the purposes of the various cards in the deck!
AEther Storm
+
Angel of Jubilation
= The core of this deck, which will leave my opponents in my trap, unable to play creature spells.
Angelic Arbiter = A creature to stop opponents from getting out of control if AEther Storm is blown up. She gives me time to prepare for another one, if one isn't immediately in my hand
Counterspell = Pretty Self Explanatory, my most versitile counterspell.
Curse of the Swine = One of my outlets for getting rid of nuisance creatures my opponent has already played before AEther Storm
+
Angel of Jubilation
go off.
Cyclonic Rift = Same as Curse of the Swine, except more of an emergency use. The cards just too good.
Deicide
= Blows up pesky enchantments, as well as Gods, which can be annoying to remove, and have been in a lot of use since Theros.
Geist of Saint Traft
= A really heavy hitter, for a very small amount of mana, that I can slip in before Aether Vortex goes off.
Gilded Lotus = Ramp.
Grand Abolisher = Great card, will stop my opponent from being able to stop a lot of my plays.
Idyllic Tutor
= Ideal for searching for Aether Vortex or even Righteous Authority. I wanted 2 in this deck, but unfortunately they are pricey.
Increasing Devotion = Great Token card, and lets me bypass Aether Vortex to get creatures out.
Render Silent
= Amazing counter spell, it pretty much ends a players turn when I counter one of their spells.
Righteous Authority = Can pump up my creatures already on the field, and ALSO lets me draw. a great aura, thats extremely helpful.
Sol Ring = Ramp.
Supreme Verdict = When shit hits the fan, blow everything up!!!
Swan Song = One of many counters, they help me keep my opponent from playing noncreature spells (Which will be all hes able to play anyway).
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben = Disrupts opponents early plays, and cheap to get out. A very good card.
Void Stalker
= Gets rid of pesky creatures, while taking a big dump of my opponents top deck!
