I took third place at my last FNM with this deck. It's a Boros build that relies heavily on humans, tokens, and burning (with Entreat the Angels thrown in for a good miracle or two). I'm looking for ways to improve it, and to up it's consistency and aggro.
Assemble the Legion and the Entreat the Angels are there to help in the midrange game, and to fight off against Control decks, which I have actually used with great results.
I know the biggest thing I need right now are more of the dual lands that are out there - shock lands (Sacred Foundry) and tap lands (Clifftop Retreat) - but beyond that, any other suggestions would be highly appreciated.
As for the Side/Maybe/Acquire Boards -
Hellrider would be my go-to choice to include, given the attacking bonus and the shear number of creatures I can produce quickly, but I need to even get some before this is an option, lol.
Ash Zealot
and
Kessig Malcontents
are my top choices for the Sideboard, and I'm actually debating if I should add these to the Mainboard. Thoughts?
Village Bell-Ringer
is only there because, for some reason at my LGS, a lot of the white/hybrid decks love them some
Feeling of Dread
s, and flashing these guys in to say, "No. Stop it. Stop it right now," would be awesome, lol.
And lastly - Firemane Avenger. I'm torn on these gals. I've tried using them before, but without a Lightning Mauler there to give them haste, they always seem to be one turn too slow. Most opponents, the second they see them, will throw anything and everything they have at them to stop their Battalion ability from going off. Given how susceptible they are to Searing Spears, that's a costly 4-drop waste for a turn...
