The main idea behind this deck is to pump out tokens while keeping the board clear thanks to counterspells and nukes. As an added bonus, the Guttersnipes get a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever a spell goes off.

Mainly this deck was pieced together with things I already had. After playtesting it a few times, I think I could stand to take out some counterspells to put in a few more direct damage spells. I'm also thinking the Nivmagus Elementals are on the chopping block as well, in favor of either more creature control (Unsummon, Blustersquall and the like), tempory buffs to give my little tokens some extra bite (such as Weapon Surge), or card draw. I also plan to get some more dual lands eventually.

Any ideas/pointers would be greatly appreciated! Please note, I'm trying for a somewhat budget deck, otherwise I'd love some of the more fancy spells blue and red have to offer.

Updates Add

Changed it up a bit, because I felt the same way Coshmo did. Added 2 Talrand's Invocation to give myself a better air presence, added 4 Shock for extra damage, and put in 2 Satyr Firedancer for funsies. Took out some counters and the 2 Nivmagus Elementals to make room for the additions. It seems to play a bit better now, but there's always room for improvement!

Edit 2: Made some more changes. Took out the Talrand's Invocation, the Unsummons, and the Blustersqualls. I think Blustersquall is a great spell, but when most of my critters are little weenie creatures, I felt the spell wasn't pulling its weight. I added 1 more Pillar of Flame, and 3 more counterspells (after playing this deck with some friends in multiplayer, I felt like I needed some more counters). Added 1 more Satyr Firedancer and 1 Dragonshift - if for whatever reason the game goes on for that long, having this in the deck ends things quickly. And, if not, having just 1 doesn't hurt much at all.
