Maybeboard

OVO Good morning, OVO

Saw the Tovolar MID-Spoil and I knew I had to put those og werewolf cards to work. This deck revolves around getting wolf tokens out on the field and giving them some evasion in order to ping the player and draw cards. There are a few cards that mirror Tovo's ability and his transform ability allows some creatures to benefit. While unreliable until Turn 5-6, it's a nice touch that gives some things more utility at the cost of complexity. If the card isn't already a wolf, it'll stack evasion/removal abilities, anthem, turn the dogies into mana-churning engines. Originally, I wanted to make transform my entire board and wipe in combat but I'm usually struck down with wide removal. I'm adding thinking about a Pyroblast, because blue. And I'm putting more wolves and less werewolves in to take advantage of Tovo into a combat phase draw engine. With combat rituals and combat-card draw I aim to rebuild my board if necessary. My Win-Cons are multiple combat phases and tap down/make creature can't block/target unblockable to evade defenses (thinking about ). And Triumph of the Hordes. Its weakness is that it has few responses to any interruptions, beyond Heroic Intervention, Moonmist, and Full Moon's Rise I can hope that deathtouch and trample instill enough fear until my 2/2 wolves become 5/5's.

Combo #1: Have 3 wolves or werewolves and at least Cult of the Waxing Moon + transformy-boys and Village Watch   or Fires of Yavimaya if possible. Cast Arlinn, the Pack's Hope   and use her +1 ability to be able to flash in creature spells until your next turn. During your opponent's end step before your turn, cast Tovolar, Dire Overlord   from your command zone with flash. If he lands, then during your upkeep transform all your buddies, make some more tokens, draw, then swing, draw again. This will result in a very explosive turn but can be easily spoiled due to its involved set-up. Looking at other werewolf cards that could provide utility from transforming.

One-Card Combo #2: A board state + Triumph of the Hordes or Beastmaster Ascension

Combo #3: Dolmen Gate + Bow of Nylea or Saryth, the Viper's Fang or Ohran Frontfang + wolf tokens

More Wolf Tokens Combo #4: Get some wolf tokens onto the field (cast Howl of the Night Pack if you have the mana), an anthem (e.g. Nightpack Ambusher, Spirit of the Hunt, Beastmaster Ascension, Full Moon's Rise, Howlpack Resurgence, Vanquisher's Banner, or Triumph of the Hordes if you aren't going to kill everyone), then at the end of your turn sacrifice one of your tougher wolves for more wolves.

More Wolf Tokens Combo #5: Get/Have some wolf tokens onto the field (cast Howl of the Night Pack if you have the mana), then on the second main phase cast, make more wolf tokens if needed, cast Raised by Wolves make basic non-token wolf or sac-wolf big and sacrifice it to Feed the Pack. More wolves with Second Harvest next turn.
