Sideboard

A person I play with thought this deck was scarier than it actually is. He insists that I can win out of nowhere with an infinite combo. So I made this to show him exactly what I need to win, how consistent the combo wins are (not as much as he complains that they are), and that he needs to stop bullying me for playing a deck that that is more likely to kill myself than an opponent.

The goal of this deck is to cast as much stuff from your graveyard as possible with Vadrok, gaining a strong board state and disrupting your opponents plans. Wining with this deck is through commander damage or overall damage.
There are 2 combo enablers and 3/4 Combo finishers. A fair warning, River Kelpie or Secrets of the Dead will kill you before you can kill another player.
Underworld Breach lets you play cards from the graveyard at the cost of other cards in your grave yard. This goes infinite with Jeskai Ascendancy and Frantic Search . As long as you have this will let you reach a storm count equal to a third of number of cards in your library. Underworld Breach also goes infinite with cards such as Pyretic Ritual and Seething Song to create infinite mana.

Dockside Extortionist goes infinite with Vadrok, Apex of Thunder and Snap as long as your opponents have 4 or more artifacts and enchantments. This can produce infinite mana and a truly infinite storm count.

There are 3 to 4 ways to win with your combos 1. Burning Vengeance dealing 2 damage to target player every time you cast something from your graveyard. 1. Flooding the board with Kykar, Wind's Fury and attacking everyone with a massive amount of 1/1 flyers that can be sacrificed for mana. 1. Sprite Dragon growing very big and killing someone that way with damage. 1. One that I no longer include because it is unreliable in my list: Brain Freeze . This way of winning is only viable with using the Dockside Extortionist + Snap , therefor it is only useful otherwise as a way to feed your graveyard.
As you will see, all of the removal package is castable from the graveyard with Vadrok, Apex of Thunder

We are running all the legal mutate creatures in this deck except for Souvenir Snatcher because it is too high of a cost for what it does. Ideally, you would want to mutate onto Geist of Saint Traft , card:Ghostly Polferer, card:Casm Skulker, Stormwing Entity , or one of the aforementioned combo creatures: Dockside Extortionist , Sprite Dragon , Kykar, Wind's Fury . But Elsha of the Infinite , Pollywog Symbiote , or River Kelpie can also be mutated onto.
  • Snap and Crystal Shard are used to return our stack to our hand so that we can value more off of the mutates triggers or stop our stack from hitting the graveyard.
  • Sun Titan , while also being another valid mutate target, Sevinne's Reclamation , and Remember the Fallen all help get mutate targets and mutate creatures from the graveyard to your hand if they somehow find their way there. -Our only pure counter spell is Delay because once people know how much value Vadrok provides, they will be likely to counter it.
  • There are two kinds of draw effects: looting effects and pure draw.
We are running more looting effects than pure draw because it puts cards into our graveyard so that we can play them for free later with Vadrok. Our looting effects are card:Jeksai Ascendancy, Pollywog Symbiote , The Royal Scions , Burning Inquiry , Faithless Looting , Wheel of Fate , Cathartic Reunion , Thrill of Possibility , Izzet Charm , and Frantic Search for a total of 10 looting effects.
We have less in this draw section, but we have more powerful effects. River Kelpie , Secrets of the Dead , and Whirlwind of Thought make it so every time you mutate Vadrok you benefit more. Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora gives you cards for every spell your opponents cast getting you ahead by a large margin very early. Preordain , Brainstorm , Archmage's Charm , and See the Truth all get you a lot farther into your deck than anyone else.
Need a certain removal spell? Boom Mystical Tutor ... what? you need a blue instant right now!? Got you covered with a Merchant Scroll . Got a turn 2 creature out and want to mutate Vadrok? Pyretic Ritual has you covered. Want to mutate Archipelagore the following turn? Seething Song ! Need white but don't have enough sources? card:Chromatic Lanturn. More ramp included with Sol Ring , Talisman of Creativity , and Izzet Signet . Oh yeah, I threw in a Lotus Bloom since Black Lotus is a bit out of my budget.
  • Casting Lotus Bloom from the grave with River Kelpie on the field will net 2 cards drawn and 3 mana of any one color
  • Casting Frantic Search with a Vadrok, Apex of Thunder trigger makes most of the mutate creatures free or 1 mana
  • These are some cards that I want to put in but have not yet as I am on a tight budget.
