This deck revolves around two mechanics. Evoke, and
Incandescent Soulstoke
's ability. Evoke or Soulstoke various elementals with powerful abilities to ravage your opponents in unique ways. With this, you can bring out huge cards such as
Liege of the Tangle
as early as turn 4. Or, swing in the air with
Supreme Exemplar
, then Fling it for 20 damage turn 4.
Using Primal Beyond and Smokebraider you can pay the costs of the expensive but powerful elementals, in case your Incandescent Soulstoke is killed.
Red Elementals:
Flamekin Harbinger
- This card lets you fill in the piece of the puzzle you don't have as early as turn 1.
Smokebraider
- Mana ramp for your Elementals. Together with Brighthearth Banneret, you can hard cast everything in this deck.
Incandescent Soulstoke
- A very important card for this deck for its ability which lets you bring out Liege of the Tangle as early as turn 4. +1/+1 to all your utility creatures also helps a lot.
Brighthearth Banneret
- Reduces costs of elemental spells, and its reinforce can come in handy to give
Thunderblust
another persist.
Thunderblust
- Summon with Incandescent Soulstoke and it comes back again a little weaker, but with trample too. Use Brighthearth Banneret to reinforce for another persist. Cheap enough to play normally.
Nova Chaser
- Only costs 1R with Brightheart Banneret. You can use championing to your advantage with Flamekin Harbinger.
Hound of Griselbrand
- An incredibly tough creature for 4 mana, both double strike and undying. Bring it out with Incandescent Soulstoke and you get to keep it as a 3/3 double strike.
Powerful Non-Red Elementals:
Liege of the Tangle
- Bring it in early with Incandescent Soulstoke and suddenly you have somewhere around 16 to 24 power in new creatures.
Supreme Exemplar
- Huge power and toughness with evasion, great for a swing and Fling combo.
Shriekmaw - So it's not really a spell. But with its evoke, it's a
Terror
at sorcery speed. Great if you need creature removal.
