Gids

What can I say? Gideon has always been my patron planeswalker. I like the aspect of white the gets out there and sacrifices itself for the greater good.

The deck is inspired by Gideon of the Trials The moment he hits the battlefield we should be getting that emblem. Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is arguably the second most synergistic Gideon. His ultimate stacks nicely and the creatures he creates work well to protect and work with Gideon in other forms.

Another fun thing Gideon can do is make nonlegendary planeswalker tokens with Helm of the Host - the helm does fall off every turn as he turns back into a planeswalker, but 5 mana for a permanent copy of Gideon isn't so much to pay - and it tends to be where I sink mana when the game is stalling.

Gideon in general works very well with board wipes (you can turn him into a creature to avoid Hour of Revelation and that's our second defense.

If the opponent has to keep focussing all their attention on Gideon turn after turn - you're safe, and from safety stems peace. May Gideon favor you.

Updates Add

Given the legendary rules shift this deck, which began as somewhat of a joke, has suddenly become a much better deck than I had intended. I've been playtesting it a lot and resultantly taking out some of the more flavorful pieces for more competitive pieces. Tragic Arrogance has become Wrath of God etc.
