(Shifting from standard to modern, need to update the description)

So there are a number of infinite combos present in Standard right now, but this is the one I felt was the most flexible and resilient.

Basically, since Elite Arcanist is expensive and fragile, I used Meletis Charlatan instead. This also let me combo out with Hidden Strings instead of just with Triton Tactics. Hidden Strings has the benefit of being able to untap any permanent, so for mana generators, I have Astral Cornucopia, Nykthos, and Axebane Guardian. On top of those, the deck runs Ready/Willing for massive untaps, which can let you go off with a much more variable creature base, so this is also where the Sylvan Caryatid comes in. Wall of Frost is just a big stop sign that feeds your Axebane Defenders, and I had Doorkeeper in the deck but pulled it in favor of Evanescent Intellect.

Brief aside to explain precisely how to properly abuse this engine. You need to generate 4 mana to profit at a minimum, 6 if you're using Nykthos as your mana source. Here's the process:

-Cast the untap spell, targeting your Charlatan and your engine card-Tap the Charletan to copy the spell

This is a critical point. Now you have to pass priority to allow your copy to resolve. If your opponent tries to break your combo at instant speed, the beauty of the combo itself is that it's enabled by cheap, cheap spells, so you can very well just play another Triton Tactics/a Simic Charm/Ready//Willing on top of their kill spell. If your opponent tries to counter your copy and you don't have another in hand, that will break the combo: keep this in mind.

-Let the copy of your spell resolve and untap your Charletan and your mana source-Tap the Charletan to play another copy of the spell on top of the original

You repeat this until you have 6 + X mana, where X is the cost of the other effect you intend to abuse, in this case, we'll say Retraction Helix. For this you would need 4UUU: U for Retraction Helix, which would be cast on any creature you control without summoning sickness that is not your Charletan, and 2 Charletan activations of 2U apiece.

-Cast Retraction Helix and let it resolve on top of your original spell-Activate the Charletan to copy your untap spell again, targeting itself and the creature you targeted with Retraction Helix-Tap your Helix'd creature to bounce one of your opponent's permanents-Let the copy of your untap spell resolve, untapping the Charletan and the Helix'd creature-Use the 2U you have remaining to activate the Charletan, untapping it and your mana source again, completing the loop

You can repeat this until you bounce every nonland permanent your opponent has in play. The same applies for Evanescent Intellect, that's a wincon.

What does this deck need? Other wincons. I put in a couple Colossus of Akros and once you go infinite, your opponent's gonna need a wheelchair. But the deck has no real attack strength outside of that.

Things this deck could use:
-Rogue's Passage (for free Hidden Strings)
-Other things to do with all that dang mana
-Phenax
-Returned Phalanx
-Fated Infatuation + Mnemonic Wall
-Sources of card draw
-Other tricksy crap to throw into the combo and infinitely recur
