Hi everyone!
This deck is my first Standard deck and also is an attempt to make Merfolks work in Standard!
How Does It Work?
Basically, the idea of the deck is to put all the Merfolks you can on the battlefield as fast as you can and attack, while pump them with +1/+1 counters (Coming from another Merfolks and other tricks), and then, make them unblockable with Herald of Secret Streams (That's why we have 3 copies of this card).
Handling The Game
To handle the game while Herald of Secret Streams doesn't come, we have some tricks, like Spell Pierce and Select for Inspection, following the suggestions, I'm also working with Unsummon, remember you can use it to save your own creatures, bouncing them to escape from a removal, like Fatal Push. Also, Unsummon is a nice card because the most of the Merfolks have triggered abilities when they enter the battlefield, so, bouncing them is not a bad thing at all. To help with the +1/+1 counters, we have River Heralds' Boon, and that's why I use: That's a good a card because for 2 permanent +1/+1 counters it's a good deal. Again, I tried to work with Blossoming Defense but the pump is only until the end of the turn.
Chart a Course
will help you to draw some cards, once you will drop your hand to the battlefield fast on the early tuns.
Deeproot Waters
is a little confuse card, I mean, that's a good card, but I think that is a little bit slow once the deck is aggro, and I don't think it's worth to remove some important cards to put 3 or even 4 copies of it, so we work with a singleton.
Sideboard and bad matches
I think the bad match is against hard control decks, so, the sideboard is full of counters and cards to deal against those decks, like Shaper's Sanctuary, Negate and Heroic Intervention.
