So I have loved the Simic's second iteration from the get-go; evolve is easily one of my favorite mechanics (it could be the flavor more than the utility, but nevertheless). I have wanted to build a solid aggro control build ever since I began to learn about the many archetypes, so here is my second (and I think better) attempt. I am hoping that I can bring this deck to tournament viability, though mass removal will always be a concern for decks in this vein.
Below I will provide a rationale for each card. I find each of these cards to be important in achieving my ultimate goal, but am very open to constructive criticism and suggestions for certain tweaks.
Experiment One: In the right builds, E1 can be an all-star with his activated regeneration (unfortunately my only means of dodging board wipes at the moment), and evolves consistently given this deck's curve.
Gyre Sage: Boy do I love my two drops, and this card is no exception. While not as useful in ramp as Sylvan Caryatid, she has the added bonus of becoming something of a beater if evolved enough.
Sylvan Caryatid: While my curve is relatively low, I want to keep open as much mana as I can so that I can use my spells to interact with the opponent. Furthermore, I want a body that can successfully block annoyances in the early game. Thankfully, she fits the bill.
More to come...
