In an effort to break my favorite theros card: Prophet of Kruphix, I have stumbled upon a very unique and powerful Maze's End Ramp Deck.

In today's aggressive standard, it is quite difficult to justify playing guildgates and a 5 drop 2/3. That is why the rest of the deck is geared toward aggressive stabilization and control.

Pulkranos, Jace and Advent of the worm go a very long way at stabilizing against aggro, especially when played on turn 3.

Mortars, Rift, and Turn an burn are great early game plays against aggro that become complete Bombs when the mana gets there (pretty quickly).

Sylvan Caryatid and Elvish Mystic Make up the ramp. I'm not certain if Mystic is superior to Voyaging Satyr, as satyr allows double blue, double white, triple red, quite easily, satyr also allows activations of maze's end every turn. but mystic gives additional routes of landing turn 3 four-drops with one shock land.

and Prophet! WOOH! Prophet... makes all of your guildgates come into play virtually untapped (your opponents turn at least)

makes 'maze's end' a 4 mana farseek with buyback

can be followed up with excellent plays immediately (revellation, pulkranos/advent, cyclonic rift)

makes an end of turn Polukranos into a pseudo-bonfire of the damned (a good alt win con)

makes a main phase urban evolution easily followed up by any number of brutal plays.
