The reason why Magma Jet and Temple of Triumph are in is because this deck needs to manage the draws. For example, you could want an Anger of the Gods but your next draw ends up being Azorius Guildgate , you can manage that by putting the Guildgate at the bottom and Anger of the Gods on top, making this deck more efficient.

Dealing with the Gods

Curse of the Swine can exile things, like the Gods! This is the only removal to them, so use them wisely.

Why wipe the board with one card when you can gain the life lost back? Sphinx's Revelations allows that to happen. This was added for that purpose and to be able to draw that wipe you're looking for. All the cards you discarded can go towards your mill with Psychic Spiral to your victory over your opponent!
