My take on a Hanna, Ship's Navigator control build, of sorts. I must thank Hc_Clan and their deck Hanna's Booty, for giving me many ideas for this build. I made a handful of flavor, budget and strategic alterations of my own though.

There is a slight theft theme, because she seems vaguely pirate flavored, so I wanted to incorporate that, even though Desertion and Commandeer are both quite costly spells - I realize I could have two better/cheaper counters in here but they just fit well flavor wise, and the upside when they pay off is fantastic. Plus, having theft options is necessary and something of a win-con for me since I don't have any of the much higher budget artifacts like Blightsteel Colossus, and I don't want to just throw one in anyway. If someone has one of those, or puts out an Eldrazi titan or Hellkite Tyrant or some other finisher, I can take it and win, essentially. With that said though, I am trying to find room for Rings of Brighthearth - it seems like it would be really good to have in here. I'm not super sure what to take out yet so any ideas would be appreciated!

Beyond that, I tried to have a balance of utility and redundancy to make sure the deck is relatively resilient, while still fitting the flavor idea of privateer Hanna, with many rare artifacts and enchantments. I also kind of want it to be a fun deck to play against and with, as well. However, there is at least one win-con as well - Darksteel Forge + Mycosynth Lattice + Nevinyrral's Disk . If I can fit Possessed Portal, that + Myr Turbine could be an extended win-con as well. The only reason it's a sideboard is one person in my meta sometimes runs a Mikaeus deck, which is just asking for extra sac outlets.

That all said, I've been working on an alternate, stax-based version since it seems like Hanna would excel in the grind of stax. That's what the sideboard is also for, so that depending on how I want to play I can swap out stuff and make people hate me.
