So the idea for this deck is to be a filthy casual combo deck that uses cartel aristocrat and viscera seer as sac engines, undying and persist creatures as fuel, and blood artist to kill people to death. Every once and a while, I can exert enough board control to keep an opponent's field relatively empty, so sometimes my creatures flick you to death also.
My friends and I play modern budget, and so this was meant for that meta.
Card Explanations:
Cartel Aristocrat: Sac engine. The slow but sturdy version of viscera seer, is pretty hard to remove mid to late game, and can swing or block with relative impunity thanks to protection.
Viscera seer: Sac engine. A glass cannon ish guy. Can really speed up your deck for the couple of turns that it stays on the board.
Pawn of Ulamog: Fuel extender. Every time a non token creature dies I get fuel for my sac engines. Nice. Also can give mana in a pinch.. but that really only ever helps for perilous myr draws at the end of a long turn.
Perilous Myr: Early game defense/removal, late game fuel/direct damage slave. Is really just there to buy you a turn or two of defense. Can kill things up to toughness 3, which can make an opponent slow down a little bit. Late game he can be used to whittle your oppnent down faster.
Butcher ghoul, Nether Traitor, Kitchen Finks: Fuel. Kitchen finks is also some lifegain, which can help you get an extra turn of life, and nether traitor never stays dead for long (although he never stays alive for long either).
Blood artist: Primary lifegain and damage.
Return to the ranks: Pretty sure wincon/oh god they wiped my board and will kill me next turn. will bring most of your creatures back so long as you have the mana for it. Great card for this deck. goes great with pawn of ulamog
Dark Prophecy: Worst case senario is a 3 cost draw 2 for 2 life card. Generally you get way more bang for your buck, but I'm also considering altar's reap. Not convinced about this card, but when it comes out and if it can stick around for two turns it usually wins me games. The card cost is a pain though.
Bone Splinters: Super sketchy about this one. I'm thinking that tragic slip will be better.. but every once and a while I need the extra sac boost when things go horribly wrong.
Would love to hear feedback.
