This is my first EDH deck, I've stopped playing a few years ago (during champions of Kamigawa). I came back to the Magic universe a few months ago and I decided to try to build my own commander deck.

Feel Free to give me some advises. It will help me to build a stronger deck

Concept/Synergy:

Special Combo Reyhan, Last of the Abzan + Blade of Selves

1. Counters +1/+1: As you can see, this deck is mainly on counters in order to create a real army of beeffy creatures. Cards like: Corpsejack Menace , Primal Vigor, Doubling Season , Kalonian Hydra, Bloodspore Thrinax, Forgotten Ancient , Oran-Rief, the Vastwood , Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, Reyhan, Last of the Abzan, Vigor. With all those cards, your creatures receive +1/+1 counters for almost every action, defending, attacking, receving damage while preventing that damage at the same time, destroying enemy creatures, damaging an enemy player, casting spells, and even dying. I really tried to cover every aspects here.

2. Tokens: What about tokens? Those are like our back up plan. I tried to insert cards that can generate tokens but that also synergize well with our main counters concept in order to create a legion of beefy creatures or if you prefer an almost unstoppable force of destruction. lol Key cards here are: Doubling Season , Primal Vigor, Parallel Lives, Hydra Broodmaster, Mycoloth. Also 2 out of our 3 planeswalkers Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, garrul, apex predator can create tokens.

3. Manaramp and ways to draw cards: To acheive our main goals (counters and tokens), I thought about manaramp. With a 2 colors deck, things are a lot easier. Llanowar Elves, Birds of Paradise, Sol Ring, Harrow, Krosan Tusker (which is nice when cycled) are real classics. But there are a few interessing surprises at this party like Gyre Sage (which synergise perfectly with counters in order to provide a shitload a mana, just perfect to cast / creatures) and Zendikar Resurgent (which basicly almost double your mana pool and help you to draw cards when you cast a creature spell. You can also draw addiontionnal cards with Phyrexian Arena, Inspiring Call or even search in your library with Green's Sun Zenith, Tooth and Nail and Demonic Tutor.

4. Defense against Board Wipe: Oh my God!!! is it the Apocalypse? What can we do to protect our brand new army against target spells/control or board wipe? I put an indestructible creature in this deck Predator Ooze and a few creatures that can be regenerate. I know what you're thinking right now...it's not that much... Inspiring Call can be use here to protect your army by giving them indistructible until the end of turn. We also have planeswalkers and Necrogenesis that are creating tokens and creatures like Hooded Hydra and Hangarback Walker which will generate a brand new army of tokens while everything else have been destroyed. And if Genesis is in your graveyard, it will be easy for you to bring back a few creatures before the enemies strike back. And what about grave pact betrayal? Thx for my new army everyone. ;). Also Ascetism (you can regenerate target creature too), Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots should prevent key cards from being targeted. Vigor will also prevent damage dealt to your creatures, while boosting the number of counters on them.

5. Burn: There is too much control, I can't do a shit with my creatures...and we have no burn spells? hey... Essence Harvest will give you the opportunity to one shot kill an opponent and you could use your secret weapon: Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord let's sacrifice our biggest soldiers in order to annilate enemies. Oh and bring them back in your hand with Genesis after that. ;)

6. Gain life: How do we gain life? Essence Harvest and our planeswalkers can help but don't forget our 2nd commander Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper. With your army and a lot of beefy creatures with trample or maybe even unblockable due to Champion of Lambholt, you should gain a lot of hp.

7. Control: You want to control enemies' graveyards? No problem we have a few key cards here: Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze. You want to destroy artifacts, enchantments, land, or even planeswalkers? We have Terastodon, Beast Within, In Garruk's Wake, Garruk, Apex Predator, Putrefy and Abrupt Decay
