Started 0-0-1 vs Scapeshift (Gifts, no Bring to Light). Very tight games, just ran out of time/turns. Draw actually ended up being the best result.
2-0-1 after Naya Chord (turn 3 Blood Moon on the play made his life dificult) and Grixis Kiki Exarch (interesting build, he didn't see a single copy of his 4 main-deck Lightning Bolts in either game which was bizarre.)
2-1-1 after losing the die roll and getting beatdown hard by Merfolk. He kept a Cavern into Vial hand and was overwhelmingly rewarded.
3-1-1 after a close one against Naya Burn. In retrospect keeping the double Blood Moon opening hand was probably a mistake against any opponent, let alone one with a Goblin Guide playmat. Got very hairy in game 3 when I had to be on the draw, fortunately he flooded just a touch and I stabilized at 2 then found a Dragon's Claw.
4-1-1 on the win-and-in for Top 8, taking down a mono-Black Vampires list that was... unorthodox. Glad I had Gitaxian Probe to keep ahead of the weird stuff in his list.
D/DL error (wrote the wrong off-color blue fetch on the sheet) to start top 8 down a game. Rematch vs. Merfolk player. Game 1 I got there, just enough interaction, forcing a deciding game 2 (aka game 3). Really good back and forth affair, he mulled to 6 and I kept a hand with 2 Sulfur Falls and no other lands. Peeled a Steam Vents on the first turn off the top. Game was very good, I forced him into an aggro beatdown plan and once committed to that he ended up making some attacks that forced unfavorable trades just to push in some damage. I had stabilized (I thought) at 2 life and was beating back with V Clique (you can keep your Island) when he peeled an Islandwalk lord off the top a couple of turns later, forced it through with the Cavern. Dead to the islandwalking Mutavault. Next card in my deck was Snapcaster which would have let me flash back a Bolt... oh well, can't win 'em all.
Final, 6th place for 6 packs.
