So here is an incredibly simple, fast aggro deck with some decent power behind it.
The strategy is simple, like most prowess decks: get one or two creatures pump them into a massive ridiculous attacker and punch your opponents face off.
The Main Board is set up to deal the hyper aggressive turn 2-3 wins. Granted these aren't likely to come out every game but in testing the opponents usually gone by turn 4. The enabler of these T-2 wins can be sided out (
Pyretic Ritual
) in order for a better control strategy. Turning the deck almost into a traditional U/R Delver.
Here is a decent turn 3 win hand.
Delver of Secrets
,
Delver of Secrets
,
Titan's Strength
,
Assault Strobe
,
Assault Strobe
,
Shivan Reef
,
Shivan Reef
+ any spell non creature top deck turn 2 &3.
So, T1= Reef and Delver, T2= draw spell flip Delver (attack for 3), play Reef + second Delver. T3 draw spell flip second Delver, cast both strobes giving double strike ( each Delver now hits for 6) then titan's Strength a Delver and swing for 18. Good game.
So, pretty situational but entirely possible.
Every creature is a pseudo-prowess threat with great upsides and decent evasion.
Cheap spells mean prowess is ridiculously easy to trigger and cantrips + scry mean you'll probably be flipping delvers, drawing into further spells and pretty much controlling the goings on very early.
Young Pyromancer
goes wide like wildfire
Monastery Swiftspear
/
Stormchaser Mage
are just ludicrous
Delver of Secrets
is an evasive, infuriating, game winning removal magnet.
Want to know the turn 2 win? Okay... here goes.
Hand: Mountain, Mountain, Swiftspear, Strobe, Titan Str, Expedite, Ritual. (t 2 Draw Ritual and T strength)
T1= Mountain +Swiftspear attack for 1.
T2= (draw ritual)Mountain + Ritual+ Expedite( draws T strength) + 2nd ritual+ Strobe+ T strength + T strength
= swing for..... wait for it... 26 damage and Good Game.
So again, possible, but not always going to come out.
Please feel free to like, and comment on the deck i'd love some help with budget sideboarding.
