For standard.lightning bolt is too good for the deck, kills my creatures. the whole point is to get 2 knowledge pools out so i can choose which one my opponents grab from. i also want the pools to be devoid of use. with lands and/or x cost cards to kill them.

If they can kill prototype portals they either have to go through the portal(always have an instant open), or counter it. sideboard all the reverberates against counter decks.

i avoided counters because i don't want to give my opponents ways of stopping the pool.

Finally: while you kinda win as soon as you get 2 knowledge pools out, you only do so IF you have mana open to stop them getting a free win condition from thier deck. and you lose instantly if they get a knowledge pool. prepare for flipping a knowledge pool in the pool, else your hosed.
